It looks like Charlie Kirk needs to kick start his career, where better than at Grimsby with the Manager who made him the prospect he was before he went to Charlton.

Will have a bit in the bank (wage/pay off) so money (wage) may not be a problem.

Question 1) half million pound player at big League 1 club - what wages do you think he'd be on?
Question 2) how much does a team in 18th-20th place in div 2 pay?

answer - not enough to be able to afford the answer to question 1. Dream on.....

Based on the financial publications for Charlton, the Charlton weekly payroll is somewhere in the region of 90-100k a week. 28 first team players which would average it at around 3-3.5 a week. Some big players in the squad that would be on much higher than Kirk and above the 3.5 average. Given that Kirk came from Crewe as a youngster i'd imagine he wasn't being paid a substantial amount... I'd imagine his wages weren't exactly extreme and probably well within our scope.

Pike/Pyke as club captain I presume?

If we end up signing that little known French full-back Alain-Louis Picard then we know Artell's on the wind-up!

Charlie Kirk would be a statement signing and half at this level.  But for the life of me I can't see it.  Didn't work out at Charlton but his stock is surely too high for us still...isn't it?  We're also very heavily stocked in wide areas and with Vernam to come back in the fold too.  Would definitely require at least one to go I would think.

3 of his last 4 tweets have been retweets of GTFC that have related to Callum Ainley, perhaps desperate to rekindle their partnership under Artell.  We can but hope.

Think you may be confusing him with Captain James T. Kirk...

Wonder if this is the Data-led approach?

I agree. A friend who is a Mansfield fan did say before he signed, there’s all this trickery but not a lot of end product. I feel this is accurate here too. He’s very similar to Erico Sousa regarding the end product and often makes the wrong decision. I’m not totally against this.

Likewise. Looked good for a while last season but didn't make a great start to this season. Don't like to say it but looks a bit of a journeyman.

I get the argument against Khan's end product but for me he's a better footballer than Eisa. Much tidier and more comfortable in possession. Probably the most technically proficient of all our wide attacking players, so on that basis I could see him fitting into an Artell squad. Have mentioned this before recently, but for me he's also a much better partner down that left hand side for Glennon than Eisa as he actually covers him. The lack of end product with Khan is something inexplicable though, he has all the attributes to have better goal/assist stats but he seldom seems to find space in the box to get a key pass or a shot off. One of my favourite things about him is his ability wriggle/pass his way out of tight spots in midfield, but he also finds himself in these same spots in the opposition penalty box. It's like he's a magnet for opposition players at times. I don't think he's a particularly easy player to deploy but I think if we can properly crack how to use him there's a quality L2 player there. I just feel like we've only seen glimpses of that so far.
