We could do with an Andy Todd loan

I can see why he might be interested in someone like Omar Beckles -experienced, ball playing leader

I’d imagine that our greatest team ever would still have benefited from an Andy Todd loan!

The best defender I’ve ever seen in a town shirt (if we ignore Terry Butcher wearing our pink away kit when Sunderland had a colour clash x).

Andy Smith would be an instant upgrade on any of our central defenders and after a quick check on wiki has only made 2 appearances for Targers.

Started and scored the winner for Orient today in their local derby victory against Charlton so I think we can safely say this isn't happening.

It’s clear to anyone sane that our team needs major surgery in January. Any team that doesn’t keep a clean sheet for virtually half a season is begging to be relegated. Rodgers and Maher should be the first ones to make way.

Tbf, I did say someone like Beckles. Maybe I should've said someone in the Waterfall mode  but with a bit more footballing ability

There seems to be a lot of chatter about there being no money available for transfers??? I recall AP suggesting it would be more of a one in, one out scenario but when DA was asked by Matt Dean a couple of weeks ago, he suggested that’s not necessarily the case!

Other than the Charlie Kirk chatter, there seems to be very few other names being floated around. A lot of men have got one thing is for sure, we’re desperate for some additions and fast!!!

Considering Hurst was the manager when we did our summer recruitment, I would be absolutely amazed if he didn't hold something back for dealings in January like every single season he was here.

There will be movement next month/week, that we're hearing so few names is just down to the fact that the leaks at the club have been addressed.  Other than the Charles Vernam transfer, which stretched out over three transfer windows, did anyone have intel of any of the incomings?

JS and AP have always said if they want out then they won't just hand it over to anyone and I feel relatively confident that they'll honour that so I'm not overly worried if there is any substance to these rumours. I also didn't pick up on any significant tetchiness at the fans forum or on the DN35 pod, but if there was any then I don't really blame them after being asked for a training ground update for the 28th time.

I think the one in one out thing is a bit of red herring. Absolutely no good can come from advertising that you're in the market for new players.

It doesn't matter what we fans think as regards the players on our books. DA will have had time when the transfer window opens to assess his squad, who he thinks is good enough and who he can work with to play his style of football. Players that we think are great he might assess differently and vice versa. Unlike as in previous regimes, I don't think he will be under any pressure to sell any players just to balance the books or reduce costs. Only time will tell if he gets it right but obviously that is true of any managerial appointment at any club.
