What about that one he scored against Burnley I think, where he got the ball on the left wing and ran with it all the way across the edge of the area. It looked like he'd ran in too far, like he always used to, but he then cut back towards the D and lashed the ball in from the edge of the area.
silencing all the crowd momentarily who were thinking where the f"ck is he going!!!

I'd forgotten all about that! That was a big match as our biggest league defeat had been at Swindon 3 0 and they had lots of games in hand over us at the time. We could have ended up playing them in the League Cup semi that year if we'd got past Wolves. Funny how things turn out as Swindon finished mid table and went down a year or two later. You're right, it did spur us on.
One of many great games that season... Others that spring to mind are the two 3-2 away wins at Chesterfield. The first one in the cup we were two down and came back to win at the death with 2 late goals and then the second one (actually on my birthday so a great present!) we were cruising it 3-0 and then Kev Moore was sent off and we hung on despite them going all out to get the equaliser. Again against other promotion rivals our resolve back then was immense...team spirit, call it what you want but if we could instil that again now, we might start moving up again

At that 3-2 win in the cup at Chesterfield I remember they were saying that tickets would be on sale for the next round the following day just before we scored 2 goals in injury time. Not sure whether it was the league or the cup win but in one of the 3-2 wins the goals were scored by the 3 Kevins (Moore, Kilmore and Drinkell) I think.

Is that the game where there is a brilliant black and white picture of Drinks and Kilmore wheeling away in celebration and a bog roll is sailing through the air from the town end?

One of my favourites was beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at home in the eary 2000's, cant remember which season but it was a Paul Groves penalty (on my birthday too ). Steve Coppell was manager at the time and my dad went down to meet him and shake his hand before the match(hes a Man Utd fan, yeah i know) as he was his idol when he was younger, and for some reason I cant remember there was a minutes silence before the game, so my dad ended up standing right next to the away dugout with his idol until it ended.

Another random memory of mine is when Nigel Batch came back to BP with Darlo. I think that was the only time when the entire ground rose to give a former player a standing ovation.
