Had first half on in background while working but watched 2nd half over lunch. 3 good goals but felt England were a bit pedestrian at times with their tapping it around at the back and didn't really push players forward in 2nd half till Aussies had scored. Worked in the end and disappointed I am helping wife at a wedding on Sunday so at best will only get to watch it on my mobile

Ella Toone was immense and is some player. Certainly better than her boyfriend was when he played for Town.

It will only be deemed a successful World Cup if Baddiel and Skinner get to No.1 again with Two Lions for me

I was 20 and watched it with a German couple in my house.  The couple were tourists who had stopped at my Aunts Cafe, where my Mother also worked, and asked if they knew where they could watch the final, and my Mother sent them to our house.  It was quite an interesting afternoon.

“It”? Do you honestly see it as being “It”?! I mean, fair enough, but I don’t. Fair play to them, they can only beat what’s in front of them, but when you and I decided as children to dedicate our lives to football, ALL women would roll their eyes and dismiss football as being idiotic. Which is IS, I suppose!

Women’s football is not for me, it’s the wagon to jump on right now, but the girls winning this will in no way make up for the men’s team (‘England’, as they used to be called) not winning it.

“This” or “that” will never do it  for me, but good luck to them. I DO dread having to hear all the comparisons on Sunday afternoon when they win, though.

I know I’ll get near to 100% red crosses for this, but I’ve said it now.

To the older ones who were young adults when England won the World Cup in 66: what was the hangover like?

I was 19 years old when we won the World Cup.
Being a lazy git i watched it in my Jim jams with my dad.
No idea why but didn’t go out to celebrate the win with several sherberts!

Made up for it since though….
