Not sure we deserved that over the 120 minutes but will obvs take it.

Sympathise with Lauren James. Silly heat of moment stuff in a tense match, it's a split second reaction. Course it was daft, but it was hardly a Cantona kick.

Can't see Fifa not extending the ban though... be great if it was only one match, but a deliberate stamp is likely going to be upgraded to 3 matches.

We certainly didn't deserve it. Out worked all game. No sympathy for James. Unprofessional and petulant. That is her tournament done.

Why sympathise, I bet you were baying for blood when someone did it on McKeown but ref didn't spot it at the time (player was banned afterwards) it's killing me that I can't remember who they played for, might have been Cheltenham?

Well yeah, someone does it to one of your teams and you do bay for blood, cos that gets you the advantage. Would have had no problem if the Nigeria players had made a huge deal of it to try and influence decision (altho with VAR its less necessary)

But in my late teens/early 20s I've certainly made bigger mistakes through losing my cool and made daft split second decisions, both on and off the pitch.  I'm sure most here have too. Its easy done in a competitive environment, which is why it does happen relatively frequently. Footballers aren't some different species.
