But in my late teens/early 20s I've certainly made bigger mistakes through losing my cool and made daft split second decisions, both on and off the pitch. I'm sure most here have too. Its easy done in a competitive environment, which is why it does happen relatively frequently. Footballers aren't some different species.
Haven't we all, but your mistakes (I'm assuming) weren't played out in front of c50 000 in the stadium, several million on the TV and now VAR (mine certainly weren't).
Footballers are not a different species but they have to know that they won't get away with a sly dig like you or I would at Bradley on a windswept Sunday morning. This may be another factor that separates the elite players from the rest, their ability to resist their urge to give an opponent a slap or sly kick.
I can't help but see similarities between the incident yesterday and Beckham kicking out at Simeone in the men's world cup years ago. Let's hope that Ms James learns from it like Beckham did because she looks a bit special. If England do go on to win it she'll have to sit in the stand watching when she knows she could have been on the pitch making herself a legend.
Miss Scunthorpe. Not a beauty pageant, just sound advice.

Am I right in thinking that a decision on the length of her ban will be decided after we play Columbia? If that is the case then that seems so biased and almost a plan to ensure England find it harder to progress any further if we win. If the officials thought it was severe enough to warrant a three match ban then that could have been decided in the time since the incident and not wait until the outcome of our game against Columbia.
