New Bond film… well most of the budget must of gone into the intro because after that the rest of the film is a total bore-fest!
Always appreciated Connery he was a great Bond, but I grew up with Sir Roger Moore and he was the Bond for me, These Bonds enjoyed themselves they we’re exciting to watch someone you would want to be, but not with the latest reincarnation he’s more miserable than an insulate Britain protestor.

I could just about live with a depressed Bond but the storylines are crap and obviously the script has gone totally woke no wonder he’s depressed no more casual one night stands, he’s now got a female sidekick who totally ruins the film think Jar Jar Binks if you’re a Star Wars fan. I’ve now seen all Daniel Craig’s Bond films and apart from the intro to this and Casino Royale I would never want to watch again. When Connery or Moore come on over Xmas I will getting my feet up and that’s the difference.

Will that be to avoid the empties? or by the time they come on, you'll be in a horizontal position already?

The Trip on nextflix is really good. Norwegian but dubbed. Big Tarantino vibes.

One night in Miami
6.5/10

A fictional account of one incredible night where icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered discussing their roles in the Civil Rights Movement and cultural upheaval of the 60s.

A movie adaptation of a play and it left me wondering how necessary it was and whether it might have been better left. Some great real characters played well and it’s well directed but at times I was slightly bored and restless.

Completely agree with you, Sandford - its absolutely brilliant

... and at the risk of this becoming tedious I agree wholeheartedly with you both. Paddy Considine is just brilliant in this film. It's so rare to see something so simultaneously moving, hilarious, and shocking as this is. And what a treat to have the familiar accents, landscape and humour. A fabulous film.

No Time to Die
9/10

James Bond has left active service. His peace is short-lived when Felix Leiter, an old friend from the CIA, turns up asking for help, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

I grew up with the wonderfully camp Roger Moore as 007. As a kid the films were a staple at Christmas for me and my Dad or the whole family at any point to be fair. I then lost interest completely until Casino Royale. I’m not trying to justify it to anyone else as we all have our favourites for our own reasons but Craig to me is THE Bond.

Granted some of his films are better than others but this was a fitting finale and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I was both shaken and stirred (apologies 😂).

Craig is the only possible challenger to Connery in my eyes.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
