The Green Knight
Based on the 14th century allegorical tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, but I don’t know how true it was to the book as I haven’t read it. Yet. A Christmas setting, so timely viewing. Christian and pagan themes interwoven. Temptation and all that.
Really atmospheric. Music helped enormously. Mix of contemporary incidental and period music and songs. Great acting. Alicia Vikander very tempting.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn’t expect a slash em action movie. You might not like it but it might make you think.

| Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong Update: I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly |

Sightseers. 9/10
Watched this again tonight because it's ace.
A weird couple set off from the Midlands and head north towing a caravan for a weeks holiday, heading for such tourist spots as the Crich Tramway Museum and the Derwent Pencil Museum among others. Mayhem ensues.
It's a superb British black comedy from Ben Wheatley and no doubt I will watch it again in the future.

Free Fire yes, Down Terrace no. Also seen the Kill List. He's a bit hit and miss but always interesting. Will give Down Terrace a watch.

I will add the caveat that Down Terrace is not for everyone but I really liked it. The Kill List is 75% of a good film that’s let down badly in the final quarter. You make a good point about him being hit and miss.

Another Round
Four Danish teachers, each of whom seem to have differing issues with growing old decide to lead their lives based on a psychologists theory that people are born with a blood alcohol content deficiency of 0.05% and constantly being at 0.05% makes you more relaxed, creative and generally better as a person. Mixed results ensue.
An excellent film and I was not surprised to learn that an English speaking version is in the pipeline starring Leonardo Di Caprio which will probably be disappointing compared to the original, as is the fashion.
It's a bit late in the day but this is probably my favourite film this year and who knows maybe there is something in the theory of always being mildly intoxicated.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword ( 2017) 4/10
Robbed of his birthright, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy - whether he likes it or not.
How I watched all of this I don’t know, so I suppose it’s my fault but what a load of shiiite!!!

Boiling point 8/10
Enter the relentless pressure of a restaurant kitchen as a head chef wrangles his team on the busiest day of the year.
Reminded me of ‘Sorry we Missed You’ but in a restaurant and does have a feel of Ken Loach about it. Stephen Graham is brilliant as usual.
