Agree on Just Mercy - the scene leading up to the execution was tough - great book as well
Would also like to visit the National Memorial for Peace and  Justice if I get a chance to go back to Alabama again

Yeah it made me really uncomfortable to the point my palms were sweaty. To coin the word you used I found it disturbing. Absolute injustice.

Quoted from DB

I saw that and thought it very good, although the follow up seem to have something missing, Just didn't seem as good.
Yes I agree DB. Having said that there were some very intense scenes in the 2nd equalizer film especially the one where Denzel Washington  trys to persuade the youngster he has taken under his wing to not go with that crowd that live a life of crime.

Just watched Land of Mine, about German POWs in 1945 having to clear land mines the Germans had planted in Denmark. Not one to relax you! But good, engaging, thought-provoking film.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

The dissident 9/10

When Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi disappears in Istanbul, his fiancée and dissidents around the world piece together the clues to a murder and expose a global cover up.

Disturbing.

Z for Zachariah
7/10

In the wake of a disaster that wipes out most of civilization, two men and a young woman find themselves in an emotionally charged love triangle as the last known survivors.

Not your typical post apocalyptic film and surprisingly enjoyed it.

Red Joan
6/10

English-born Joan Stanley (Dame Judi Dench), a Soviet and Communist Party sympathizer, becomes employed as a British government civil servant, and gets recruited by the K.G.B. in the mid 1930s. She successfully transfers nuclear bomb secrets to Soviet Russia, which enables them to keep up with the west in the development of atomic weapons, and remains undetected as a spy for over a half a century.

Whilst I don’t regret watching it-it was entertaining enough and I’ve seen worse but this was instantly forgettable.

Entebbe (7 days in)
6/10

Inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, and the most daring rescue mission ever attempted.

Didn’t like the interpretive dance bits of it but not quite sure I get the dislike or panning from the critics it got.

I saw this a couple of months ago and it was a lot better than I expected. 6/10 is fair though. I didn’t like the interpretative dance bits either apart from right at the end when it was more powerful. Rosamund Pike felt miscast.

Not seen that. How does it compare to Raid at Entebbe? From what I remember that was a decent film.

I’ve not seen Raid at Entebbe. Charles Bronson beats Rosamund Pike though.

Fair point on Pike I reckon.
I like you haven’t seen the film Kingston refers to.
