Daniel Craig Bond films elevated Bond films from almost slapstick cliche to genuine box office movies. Granted, the cliche remains and nods to the past are welcome and subtle but the films are on a different level.

From a drama/ script point of view they’re much more intricate and I think that’s why people tend to think of the Bond from their childhood as the ‘best’ but cinematically and story wise, Daniel Craig ones smash it out the park.

For what it’s worth I think the latest should end the franchise. It won’t Becauee there always hype and cash to be made but for me, after seeing No time to die, it’s the end for Bond. Leave it alone now…

Can't see it Aldi. I've been a huge Bond fan since a child. There is a huge market still that I feel won't won't wane provided the production remains good. To be fair all the Bond films have been decent although some are better than others . I always remember some of the music for the Bond films was good as well notably diamonds are forever and live and let die.

I could just about live with a depressed Bond but the storylines are crap and obviously the script has gone totally woke no wonder he’s depressed no more casual one night stands, he’s now got a female sidekick who totally ruins the film think Jar Jar Binks if you’re a Star Wars fan. I’ve now seen all Daniel Craig’s Bond films and apart from the intro to this and Casino Royale I would never want to watch again. When Connery or Moore come on over Xmas I will getting my feet up and that’s the difference.

Have to go with you on that. Sean Connery and Roger Moore were quality.

JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass ( 2021)
9/10

Declassified files related to President Kennedy's assassination in a far larger context, aiming to shine more light on what really happened in 1963.

I’m no conspiracist generally, in fact I probably fall the other way but to me it defies logic to draw any other conclusion around the murder of JFK.
This is a detailed and thorough reexamination of that fateful day and I found it engaging, intriguing and very frightening.

Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe ( 2017)
8/10

In the early 1980s He-Man arrived on the scene and hit the world with a punch as powerful as the character himself. Designed in the wake of Conan the barbarian and under the shadow of Star Wars, He-Man's surprising popularity spawned a multi billion dollar empire that included toys, comic books, cartoons, live-action movies and a literal sister spinoff show - She-Ra - and continues to appeal to a ravenous fan-base today. Watch as artists, creators and collaborators dig deep, tell tales and share the surprising developments of an unlikely, unparalleled pop culture success in this Definitive History of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Do you have the power?

I think anyone could watch this and appreciate it as it’s well made but, if you are a kid growing up in the eighties I think you will love this. The insight behind the scenes is fascinating and it provides a massive slice of nostalgia and a link to your childhood. Who doesn’t want a bit of that!

All the Way
8/10

Lyndon B. Johnson becomes the President of the United States in the chaotic aftermath of John F. Kennedy's assassination, and spends his first year in office fighting to pass the Civil Rights Act.

A really good performance from Bryan Cranston which is hardly surprising but a shout to the supporting cast too.

Saw this yesterday.

Blue Story (released 2019) . Been wanting to watch this for a while and its now on netflix. Although a film its based loosely on actual events as seen by the end footage with a mother crying in the cemetery surrounded by flowers after loosing her child to gang violence .

I enjoyed this a lot and it was deeply moving.Shows how anger and hate and need for  hierarchy and retribution amongst London gangs just leads to more death and misery for all concerned.  I liked how the producers used a rap artist as well, Rapman (Andrew Onwubolu) throughout the film to highlight  the narrative .

7 out of 10.

Just watched a film that could be said to have a related theme Rick. Parasite (Korean film also from 2019. Touches on the unspeakable things that the poor have to do to each other in order to get by. A dark comedy. Very dark. Think it deserved its 4 Oscars. (Amazing that it won’t considering its themes: unless the Academy missed the point).

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

Should have been ‘amazing that it won’ rather than ‘amazing it won’t’ 😆
