Just watched Casablanca for the first time. Enjoyable film. Very enjoyable. Great dialogue with the secondary characters, especially the Claude Rains character. Ingrid Bergman helps.

8/10

Was just about to mention this, I've seen it a dozen times though. It's one of me all time favourite films of all time mate* A film made in 1942, the scene in the bar were the French inspired by Viktor Lazlo belt out the Marseillaise against the Germans and the Horst Wessell song, or some such Nazi song, is brilliant. The whole film is brilliantly written, acted and filmed an all time classic and well worth the 9.75/10 that I am awarding it.

*stolen from Smashie and Nicey.

And when you fall back into the mud it hurts a lot.
No! None of it was true, none of those things we thought we could see existed at all.
All that was really there was still more misery

10/10 one of my favourites. It doesn't matter how many times you watch it the film seems to draw you in.

What’s remarkable is the speed they rushed it out at.

Kinky Boots
7/10

A drag queen comes to the rescue of a man who, after inheriting his father's shoe factory, needs to diversify his product if he wants to keep the business afloat.

Not the greatest film you will ever see but it was entertaining and Chiwetel Ejiofor was excellent.

Saw Black Hawk Down(2001) again recently . Very moving  true story of what happened in Somalia in 1993 where American soldiers lost their lives. The soundtrack to the film is very good as well.

No argument from me on this one Rick. One of my favourite films and the soundtrack is brilliant!

Heartbreaking as well what happened to some of the captured soldiers who were killed. Dragged around the streets .Not to mention other soldiers who lost their lives in the battle for Mogadishu eg Malaysian and Pakistani .

Judas and the Black Messiah
9/10

Offered a plea deal by the FBI, William O'Neal infiltrates the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party to gather intelligence on Chairman Fred Hampton.

Watched this last night. I really enjoyed it. A cracking yet frightening film.

Don’t forget about the hundreds or thousands of Somalis (civilians and militia) killed by the Americans in the same incident. No lessons were learned from it (same all over again in Iraq and Afghanistan, on a bigger scale).

Good film though.
