Firstly, I love the idea of the stadium being built on the docks.

But, if that goes ahead, what would that mean for the current town centre? I always thought that any new stadium would help regenerate the town and bring more business to the area. A stadium on the docks would keep that area and the town centre pretty separate.

Probably could say the same if it was built just off Freeman Street. Is this a concern or should it be seen as a benefit?

The regeneration is of East marsh, freemo n riby square  adding on the docks fits in ok

The cost of this would be huge.

Simple question, where's all the money coming from? Government money cannot be used to fund a private company like GTFC so all the money that they have pledged can't be used. Town would have to find it all themselves.

This Shutes guy, putting two and two together and making 4, who does he think he is? An old abandoned, going to ruin docks and the need for a new stadium and he thinks of this???

The catch will be the same as usual: cost.

Any brownfield site has issues whether compulsory purchase and clearance costs around Freeman Street or the cost of filling in abandoned docks and creating the infrastructure for access at this other site. I'd imagine we'd need to have the stadium raised a bit above sea level if we go for this new site. Sea levels are rising and you don't want a storm surge to destroy your new multi-million pound stadium 20 years hence if you can avoid it.

The football stadium on the docks would help regenerate freeman street and surrounding area and the college building in the town centre would bring that area and the riverside units back to life as well as hopefully bringing the cinema into that area outside Freshney Place.

If both of these sites happen this would vastly improve the area and economy
