Thank goodness for that, he’s absolute bobbins.

Mid-table Division 4 is about his natural level to be fair.

More accurately, Lincoln City's natural level is mid-table division 4 as opposed to the false position they currently find themselves in. In time they'll return to their natural place in the grand scheme of things.

Nobody to talk to, a bit sad. Looking forward to your next contribution already

I think we’re sometimes guilty of overlooking how inexperienced Vernam was in his first spell. We were his first proper team after leaving Derby at 21, coming into a team playing under Jolley, and by the end of his second season here was considered probably our best player. He left at 23 and has been playing L1 or top end L2 ever since.

I was a bit worried as i always had the impression he was a bit of a chronic, but he’s managed 176 appearances since joining us in summer 2018, so averaging over 35 appearances a season in L1 or L2 for the last 5 seasons - and that is with some fairly significant injuries.

You never know, it might not work out, but I’m quite hopeful and think people would be more excited if it was someone with a similar record who’d not played for us before.

With Harvey Cartwright coming in as well, and if Harry stays, we could have 3 yellabelly regular starters. All straight forward haddock and chips, scraps and mushy peas lads, with no perversions from foreign counties

Welcome back Chaz

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

With all these wide players signing it will be interesting to see how Clifton is used , as I think he's best off the left hand side . Is Hurst going to trust him with a longer run of games in the middle of the park I wonder ?

Think it’s about time he had that run of games. If we play with a three in midfield, he’s the one I’d be pushing alittle further on. He can get up to support the 9 and also back in to the three with his engine. Would like to see him given that role and have a look at it.

Technically, Clifton isn't the sort to sit there and play a defensive role before spraying passes forward. His eye for goal last season shows he's better pushing forward and using his athleticism and energy to cause the opposition problems in their own half. The advanced role in a midfield diamond, perhaps?

It will be interesting to see what Hurst comes up with as I really don't know where Clifton is likely to play, and you'd expect him to be a starter if fit.

Don’t really see how signing a winger tells us anything about the future of a full back? Hurst clearly wants a back 4 from what he’s said and who he’s signed.

Glennon spends more time upfield than as a supposed full back and has often been caught out defensively.  To act as a wing back effectively you need to be very swift to cover two bases and there lies his problem. When it comes to the full back position I believe Amos does a better job. Effectively Glennon is a frustrated winger .
