Isn't this guy the oddball who used to post as Aryan Imp? Hopefully the name change is a reflection that he's changed his racist ways even if he is still a Tommy-Two-Teams.

A more appropriate username would be Arrogant Imp.

You sound like a NearManchester United fan living in the past. No coincidence that neither of you actually play football in the place you claim to represent? Both grounds falling to bits with dismal views, cramped seats and leaking roofs.

It’s called Lincolnshire for a reason, and considering you count Hull as your big derby game despite never playing them, that’s when you’re not bullying little Scunny, why didn’t you do everyone a favour and just stay in Humberside?

As I say, keep enjoying our cast offs, I remember the dross you used to send over to us (Bobby Cumming exempt obviously). Diddy Gilbert was a mouthy little thief btw, that’s why Murph got rid.

You forgot to mention a certain Graham Taylor in that list of dross! Except he wasn't was he and probably the best manager you had in the last 50+ years.

Yet lots on here think Lincoln are the model we should follow

We are not being saddled with debt though, and that is quite a difference - This is investment into the club, and improvements continue to be made to the infrastructure, so it is hardly like we are being left to decay - I wonder what model you think you should follow - Clearly your current owners have a plan, it's common knowledge they speak with our Chief exec, I would imagine to pick his brains, but to a Non Grimsby fan It's clear they are trying to move you forward.

I would be interested how you think you would afford to pay League 1 wages on 6300 average attendance's at home, ours was 8.500 and we can't afford to compete without investment which currently is happening, should it stop we would obviously struggle. A cup run put us on a good footing with training facilities and a couple of squad investments - I would hope you would use your wisely, because they do not come around often for teams like us.

Supporters and facilities are often factors that will entice better players to your club, it will also play a huge part in teams higher up the pyramid lending you their best talent if they feel they will be looked after - Hence we have managed to get some high level loanees - Brennan Johnson and Carl Rushworth to name 2.

I have not been to BP for a few years, having been 5 or 6 times previously - I will come to the pre season game with my 13 year old and I am sure I will see a difference.

What exactly do you mean regarding the investment that enables you to compete with wages? Is it through transactional arrangements at the club, or are people putting money into the club by joining the board?

You seem confident you won't be saddled with debt despite financial losses so you don't envisage people asking for any investment back, should things change?

Well.... The floodlights are a bit lower these days.

I imagine our plan for ongoing development will be a mix of maximising the potential we have in terms of attendance (see pretty much every other thread on this forum) and outside investment. Something 1878 haven't hidden from admitting.

But a big factor in any development and progression will be the use of data to give us an advantage. To put it bluntly I imagine we're trying to unearth the hidden and rough diamonds that others aren't seeing, smoothing them out and selling them for a profit.

That works 3-fold.
1) We make money when these diamonds become attractive to bigger clubs
2) For them to become attractive they've most likely had success, individually and hopefully as part of a team so we're moving up the ladder.
3) We gain a reputation as a developing club, which makes us more attractive to ambitious players.

At the minute we'll be fishing in a pond that's relative to our position. Signings from Sutton, Stevenage, Accrington, Rochdale... You get the idea.
But with a bit of success that bar gets raised (hopefully) and we get even better players to compete at a higher level...and so on and so on...

They would have to raise investment to compete , with how small our ground is atm we can't even get more than 8400 in , we actually sell around 7k per game but count actual bums on seats rather than tickets sold (maybe 600-800 ST holders don't turn up for a lot of the home games ,and their seats don't go on resale)  .

They are wise to tap into your hierachy  , I have liatened to a couple of interviews with Nates and the CEO guy (I have forgotten his name ) and it's clear they are shrewd operators and want the best for the club .

Just one. Apparently, a season long loan for Cartwright from Hull is done. Just need backup/competition.
