Only in the 3rd week of June and we have signed 5 players 4 of whom are not defenders,that shows intent

I’m sure your view from the council house puts you in a great position to comment on Vernam.

That said, I’m not overwhelmed by this signing, it’s decent but that is all.

Top player at this level and was always one of our better players when he was here. Jolley under used him because he was a flipping anti football pudding.

Keep him fit and he'll be class. Got some quality wide forwards, need a number 9.

Personally, I think we still need a strong target man type number 9. It looks like we're going with three up top and I don't see a focal point. Maybe Rose is that man, but my Mansfield supporting mate says he plays wide rather than central and is only 5'8.

I'd create space by moving Orsi on if possible, and getting a more physical strong forward in the mould of Harrogate's Luke Amstrong or Hartlepool's Josh Umerah.

Got to say, I'm a big fan of Charles Vernam, I'm delighted we have re-signed him. He's coming into his prime years now and I can't wait to see him pull on the black and white stripes again, I just hope he doesn't get overloaded with defensive responsibility off the ball. He's a match winner and playing below his level IMO.

Another left-sided player with Vernam in the squad - maybe there's more to the speculated interest in Glennon than is admitted to. Will Khan be moving to the right wing? The new strike force should get some reasonable service and backup.

Don’t really see how signing a winger tells us anything about the future of a full back? Hurst clearly wants a back 4 from what he’s said and who he’s signed.
