Absolutely shocked that we get to loan him for the rest of the season to be honest. I know that was rumoured but I couldn't see Luton doing that.

It essentially means we only actually lose him at the end of the season, when we would've done anyway, but have got a fee for him as opposed to him walking for nothing. That makes it a fantastic deal for us.

Think all parties have done well here, seems like he's had a contract under his nose from the club but hasn't signed it. The best possible outcome was to get a fee for him, and also keep him for the season, well done to the club

You now need a striker, Hursty, pretty dam quick.

Hope John doesn't suffer a  serious injury and Luton want their money back!

I guess Luton are paying a fee to avoid the battle for his signature in the summer but I'm surprised he's back on loan for the full season. Credit to the club for getting that part of the deal over the line. We can't stand in a players way when it comes to progressing up the pyramid but the blueprint is there for any players wanting to use us as a stepping stone.

Why are you gutted?
We keep him for the same amount of time as we would if we didn't sell him.
And get money for him.

Perfect deal for the club.

I think it’s a great deal really. Gives us the funds now to go out and bring in a couple of much needed top forwards which might have been financially out of reach otherwise, with a full year to plan for McAtee’s replacement.

We now have all the tools to finish off the squad with real intent. All the best to McAtee too, who has been an absolute joy to watch and hopefully will be for the next 9 months.

Can't argue with that. Money in the bank and another year playing for us. Best of both worlds.
