Sounds like the season long loan was a big deal for us so it’d be poor form of them to just pull the rug from beneath us like that, as I can’t believe we’ve been done up like a kipper under these lads.

Don’t be ridiculous. It’s a three month recovery so he’s going to have to either have it done now or by March latest.

3 month recovery? If he has an operation quickly, he could be back mid-November. That's 5 and a half months to go until the end of the season.

When the transfer was announced, I thought it likely that he'd be getting surgery at some point this season, given that the shoulder was a problem on Saturday. I'd prefer him to have the op sooner rather than later so we know we've got ourselves a really good player coming into the team before the busy Christmas period. It would help if we weren't already down to the bare bones up front, however!

We always seem to be short of forwards at the start of the season and the injuries mean this is even more the case. I think Hurst has gone a bit overboard on wingers when we haven't got anyone for them to cross the ball to!

If he needs an operation then it really doesn't matter if he was under contract to Town or not. At least with his sale to Luton we have a few thousand coming in and still will have use of the player after any operation.

Don't forget that if we had not sold him and he is out for 3 months, then this would have been 3 months closer to the end of the season and he could have been a free transfer (subject to the tribunal).


You can please some of the forumites some of the time but not all the forumites all of the time
