I think from this board we have 5 or 6 people willing to do it. Just emailed Dave Smith with the details. I shall knock up some provisional sponsor forms now.

I think some people are underestimating how difficult it would be – you might want to get a few concrete yes’s before you start organising stuff

even if thing falls flat on it's face i would like to thank everyone  for all there efforts  ...it is quiet up lifting that a jokey remak on a thread about no trains  could lead to a substansial amount of money being raised

Not been on here for a day or so so only just caught up with the thread. I would deffinately give it a go, if enough interest is raised and enough people to go I am up for it. Will do anything for a good cause, and to watch the mariners aswell cant go wrong.
Whos names are in the hat already? LH and biccys seem to be only posters for certain at the stage.

I suggest that you get you bike lubed up on Saturday morning and have a trial ride to Market Rasen; that's the half-way point.

That will give you a good indication if it is physically possible for you before taking things too far. The last thing you want is an egg-on-face moment on the day and end up missing the match.

I see what you mean, if i were to ride round Grimsby for 2 hours at a steady speed, maybe up to Ravendale and places like that that would be ample training.

Riding round Grimsby at a steady speed won't prove anything. You need to see if you can deal with some of those mighty hills on the A46 (Caistor, Swallow, Cabourne etc). That's a true benchmark as to whether you can make it all the way to Lincoln...and back.

Yeah but you don't jump straight into a sprint, you have to jog a bit first. A few weeks of riding round town and then a few trial runs up to MR.
