Unfortunately the modern day nurses uniform isn't very fetching, not like the fantasy type of nurses uniform!

Here is a cycle route- it has being given 8/10 for difficulty...i wish I owned a bike I may get fit and take part!

http://www.cycle-route.com/routes/Grimsby_to_Lincoln-Cycle-Route-370.html

that route gets better after stainton le vale (sp?) that area is quite bad. Also below the map, landmarks to see: Tealby Pub

Now based in reading, do I class as an exile yet?

Right, I think all who want to take part should PM me and say whether they want to ride or they want to help organize. I think a special role should be given to lincolnsmariner as he has done a lot of ringing round today to get things kicked off. I would also like to say that if you physically, mentally, medically whateverly can to get your bottom on your bike and get pedaling with us because the more people we have involved the more money we can make. The route may be 8/10 but it'd so worth it if we made £8/10,000 from it.

Being a film and tv student I have some vital contacts that could and would make this a success, notably a sky sports news reporter. We have also told the local papers (GET and Echo), local radio (lincs fm, viking) and I will see if I can get some contacts from Look North and calendar.

One job someone can do is ring round some bike shops in the local area to see if anyone can lend anything such as bikes and helmets. Then we need to see if Banaman will help us print some shirts with sponsors on them.

Big thank you to everyone who has said they will help so far, hopefully we will do it and raise loads of cash for this great cause.

I have a transit van that I'd be happy to lend anyone. Trouble is it''s for sale and not insured at the mo. It's taxed & tested, just sat at the side of the road in Lincoln with a For Sale sign on it! It's a bit of a heap in that it's N reg'd and 190000 miles on it, but she's a diesel and would pull your house up Caistor hill, if only at 10 mph! Is there a dispensation for insuring a vehicel on a day to day basis? I'm not sure.

i am old but up for it ...was thinkin is it possible...plausable for maybe a couple of the oldies like mysef who doubt their own fitness to say share a bike and do 10 mile sections....obviously he younger lot who do it all would et more plaudits but if i could do 10 then rest for 10  do another 10  it would make it more achievable...and maybe 1 spare bike so we all ride into lincold at end

only a thought

You can insure your van for the day (or I think the minimum is for a week).

You'll only want 3rd Party insurance so I'll cost you around 20 quid I expect.

In that case, I'd be happy to help with the van.(Providing I still have it in August, which thinking about it, I may not ) I'll look into the insurance thing. (I'd appreciate a bit of contribution to the diesel though as it's not the most economical thing I've ever owned!)
Would people to want me to just transport the bikes back to GY or be a support vehicle too? I think a "normal" car would be better as a support vehicle with a bike rack for spare bike/bikes. Incidentally I have a bike rack too which I'm happy to let someone use.
