Although if it is Shutes plus Ross in the background they cannot just spend willy nilly due to financial fair play rules, unless we ask the Man City accountants how to fund considerable transfers. Also if Shutes makes her s money through property he may be able to get Freeman sorted due to his experience.

Unfortunately this isn't strictly true. FFP or SCMP, whatever it's called now says clubs can only spend 56/60% of their turnover depending on their league bu Accrington's chairman confirmed on Twitter a few weeks ago that this is a load of shite. Why? Well because it turns out these 'rules' (unbelievably) are actually optional. At the bottom of the forms that need to be sent to the EFL/FA there's a box that can be ticked that essentially says clubs can spend what they like if the owner is happy to underwrite it. So essentially the likes of Salford can still spend what they like even at this level. [tweet] Tweet 1127514668363407367 will appear here... [/tweet] That being said I wouldn't want out playing budget to be bankrolled, I want it to be within our means. As others have said I'd prefer investment to be infrastructure and facilities to drag our club into the 21st century and towards investing in the community to enable us to tap into the potential for or fan base to grow, therefore helping to give us a bigger playing budget in the future. I really hope this takeover happens, it's exactly what the club needs and in my opinion the only way we can move forwards as a club. Exciting times could be ahead it happens.

Radio Humberside reporting the club has told them offers have been received but no proof of funds or fit and proper persons tests have been passed yet.
It is a long time since the GT was a proper newspaper with proper journalists so not much to choose between RH and the Daily Mirror in the truth stakes. But I cannot think this bloke would have let his name and photo be touted as a Liam Wood “exclusive” if there wasn’t some reality about the business.

So what do I do with my wine put it back in the cellar or what ?
No Pete. You drink it soon and celebrate like it’s all going ahead. Then you replace it so that you can do it all again when it does go ahead. Or drown your sorrows if it doesn’t. Win win 😄🍾🍾

| The wife was going away for a girly weekend. I jokingly remarked 'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football' 'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked She said 'Well you already know how to play football' |

As long as the new owner (if there actually is one) doesn’t large it on the front page of the GET spouting “We’re taking Town to the Premier” they’ll do for me!
I’m not that bothered if they don’t throw big money at us as long as they have ambition, energy, enthusiasm and drive it will be a start.
So I think I read that they have passed the fit and proper person test all they’ll need to do now is pass the FISHY and proper person test ✅ and they’ll be a rip roaring success.

Well to be honest, Shutes did indeed approach the club to make a takeover bid, and stated he wanted to build new group as part of the regeneration. That was over a year ago, and I'm sure talks will have continued - but as I understand it he has still not 'shown the money' - I expect that he is exactly who Fenty was calling a 'tyre kicker' - ofc there is every chance that some board members are kept in the dark but I seriously doubt it... I REALLY want this all to be true as much as the next person so don't think I'm quashing hopes for nothing... - this isn't 'grapevine' word, I rang my source directly.
I just hope he’s lying to you

Well Mr Shutes seems happy enough to take the story to the Telegraph so it can't be total balderdash. Is this part of the negotiation game? I just feel that if it was untrue we'd have had a furiously written statement storming out of GTFC's press office by now.
