From the telegraph:

"Sources with knowledge of the talks say that Shutes is passionate about Grimsby, and is keen to further extend the club’s influence into the community. That could also accelerate plans for a new community stadium to replace Town's ageing Blundell Park."

If he really wants to properly connect club and community, what more could we ask for? Passion off the pitch for the club and the fans will only lead to a better period on it.

This is amazing news we all know football success is driven by funds and this guy seems richer than Fenty. Modernise the board with football minded individuals that want success.

How much is the guy worth because if he is "going for it" this season and beyond he will need a bottomless pit of money . Swann was allegedly putting 30k a week in to fund scunny going for it

This may be a controversial view but I’d hate to see us start losing that amount of money.  If it all goes wrong the club could end up in a worse place.  A bit of investment to modernise the club, get get the stadium project going and attract a handful of quality players and then aim to live within our means would do for me.
