All this talk of the club feeling to get the fans excited or what not is getting boring. Ultimately, the only thing that does that is success on the pitch, not a kit launch or other media stuff. People say we failed to capitalise on the success of promotion compares to other teams, but the comparisons are always almost always with teams who won the league compared to how we did it. Yes it was a great moment for the diehards, but it wasn't a scincilating season to bring in the non die hards. Theres a reason it was our lowest wembley turn out. It's getting a bit boring people going on a negative tangent every time the club does anything.

The fade in shirts are not the most flattering and are somewhat unforgiving for the average overweight and out of shape person  ... and the shirts won't look that good on the fans either

I really liked the faded shirt ( promotion one wasn't it)? so hopefully its like that again, I haven't bought a shirt for the last few years, think that pink one we all went mad over was the last one?

I stopped buying new shirts years ago. We’ve had Errea since 2008 and Young’s as a club sponsor since 2004, there’s only so many designs they can do, wouldn’t mind a change in both some time. Not criticising Young’s as a sponsor just we’ve looked the same for over a decade bar a few fades and trims. The changes aren’t as drastic as what they were back when we had Avec kits. I’ll stick to my 98 shirt. 😉

I like thw Youngs logo, when my mate (real sociadad) was over from Spain he was impressed we had such a big name on the shirt and took some selfies in his shirt back home with youngs products in the Supermercado lol.

Looking forward to more tiny snippets of the new design all week.

I don't see the problem with Youngs as shirt sponsors regardless oh how long they have been. They are a household name, keep our connection with the fishing industry and also reinforce our "Food Town" credentials. For all we know they could be the best deal available so why change it? It makes me laugh when posters on here who have no knowledge or insight into what is available as potential sponsors criticise the club. Still, for some it's just another way to get their jollys by kicking the club.

Couldn't agree more, local company with a national profile and fish. What is there not to love about that?

Rather that than some unheard of Thai betting company like a lot
of Prem/Champ clubs or some asbestos firm a la the gimps.

Yeah I like Young’s as a club sponsor for all the above reasons. The only thing I don’t like is the logo on the back of the shirt. For anyone who’s seen the sneak peak picture on Twitter, there’s the nice embroidered 3 fish on the back just below the collar, but for me that’s spoiled by the logo directly under it, and also the players name is going to be really low down the back of the shirt.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

My gripe with the sponsor on the back of the shirt is that we have Young’s sponsoring it. Why not try and get another company to pay for that spot? More money!
