I get it that Cartwright is too far over to the other side but Amos and Andrews don't leave a flipping motorway lane size gap and physically turn away from the ball then that effort doesn't even get near the goal.

I agree with you. When a wall is put up you expect defenders to stand their ground and not move ( Upwards is ok ). They left a gap and the ball went through it. The ball should not have got passed the wall.

Surely the whole idea of the wall is to mask one side of the goal and the GK can then concentrate on a smaller area.
Our wall was (L to R)  3+1+1 i.e. a gap between man 3 and 4, and then 5. Porous wall. The ball flew between 3 and 4 at head height with little or no bend required. Poor wall, GK had no chance.
I just think that our team underestimated the "part timers" not thinking that these teams are peppered with some players who have played at a higher level. What is unforgivable it the free header that hit the post.
But still, the good news is we didn't lose and fight another day. UTM
