Have heard that pubs near the station are home fans only - where would you recommend for us?

If you are coming by car and want a few beers beforehand, head to Lewes, leave your car there and then its a one-stop 6 minute free train ride (included in the price of your match ticket) to the stadium. Then do the reverse after If you are coming by car but don't want beers beforehand or want to drink in the ground you can still do the above or head to nearby woodingdean area and then either walk (20 minutes) or get a taxi to the ground If you are coming down by train just come out of Brighton station and walk in a straight line down towards the sea and you'll find West Street and most away fans take over Wetherspoons down there but youll probably be welcome in most pubs/bars in the city centre if youre in small groups and yes the ones by the station tend to be home fans only but youre not missing much as they are a bit shite . PARKING NEAR THE GROUND IS NOT AN OPTION SO DONT TRY

On this occasion, and probably a first for us, I can envisage some traveling without tickets to get the prematch atmosphere and watch in pubs around Brighton.

That'll be fine and for prematch atmosphere Wetherspoons down West Street will be your best option

I'm coming down in my motorhome for the weekend. Is there any parking spots you could recommend please?

ill be honest thats not my specialist subject I'm afraid, and I know that generally you are not allowed to sleep overnight in your vehicle in most places. If it were me I would just park either in Roedean area BN2 5RJ or Hove seafront area BN3 4FA and pay for any daytime parking and then just risk it overnight. Obviously being Brighton we attract a lot of visitors so motorhomes are commonly spotted so you definitelt wont stand out or be alone - as for official options I'm sure youll have apps and websites you can search up on - feel free to ask about any particular places you find and i'll give you the lowdown on the area etc

Thinking of doing the same, but will probably use a local campsite. Have you got park4night app? There will be some places on there.

sorry for delay in coming back to you but your forum only allows 10 messages per day - what is this North Korea anbyway - yes drive to lewes on Sunday morning and then jump on the train (1 stop to falmer) cost is included in your match ticket. Do the reverse after the game, back to your car but hopefully in not too happy a mood

Definitely not, our manager is cut from a different cloth to what we're used to in England, he just wants to win every game regardless of what's coming up, he will definitely field our strongest available eleven.

Hi seagulls,
Does Brighton do that thing that southampton do with a red carpet, lights and an announcer for the home and away teams when they get off their coaches? How long before kick off does that take place?
Never seen it before, no idea if that's the norm at you clubs feasting at the premiership table nowadays

No we don't do that, our players arrive in their own cars as they have their own carpark and they generally get to the ground about 4 hours b4 kick off for prematch meal Away teams tend to arrive around 90mins before kick off but that varies (Aston Villa were stuck in traffic last year and arrived with about 15 mins to spare) .your team may decide to come earlier as its a big occasion so if you want to see them arrive id guess about 2hours before kick off. But there will be no lightshow or announcer Heres a quick vid of Newcastle arriving so you can see what its like https://twitter.com/ChronicleNUFC/status/1457018934088110082

Thanks for offering any advice, very much appreciated. Just a few questions.
1. Can you recommend where’s the best place to drop the missus off that’ll keep her occupied whilst I go to the match, is there a certain part of the seafront that’s popular or a nice shopping centre for example?
2. I’m parking at The Avenue, if I was to meet the missus back at the car after the game can you recommend a taxi firm that she can use or is there a bus service in that area?
3. I’m staying at Offham on the Saturday, regarding question 1 is there perhaps anything around that area that would keep the missus occupied during the match? Thanks.

1/ Yes she should go to 'The Lanes' - full of interesting quirky shops and narrow streets its brilliant - also its in easy walking distance up to the main shopping centre at Churchill Square or down to the seafront (5 minutes eitherway) so if its a nice day she will love it https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/....._Sussex_England.html2/There are numerous buses in the city going all over the place but this can be quite daunting in a strange city - I would bite the bullet and call her a cab. Main taxi cabs are Streamline Cabs on 01273 202020 or Brighton taxis on 01273 204060 but we also have Uber so maybe download the app if you dont have it already and use that (probably an offer on too so you may get the first ride free) 3/Offham is very quiet countryside area so she should go to Lewes town centre which is lovely and has lots of antique/interesting shops. If you are undecided I recommend The Lanes/seafront area mentioned above (especially if its nice weather)

According to our board and the Trust, there aren't any issues. When, not if Venue Toolbox fails again tonight, I hope it forces to club to bin it off.

No problem at all - we know what its like to be down in the lower leagues and when we were down there I used to love the FA Cup, praying we'd get a big away game to enjoy, so I'm happy to help you all and hopefully you'll have a great weekend (bar the result of course I'm just trying to sort the weather out for you at the moment

What a really kind thing to do - set up an account on an opponent’s forum specifically to help supporters. Touch of class. I’d like to see Brighton sustain and build on their fantastic progression in modern football.

Maybe we could become an affiliated club with Brighton (not Southampton as they are too easy to turn over) and you could send your up and coming wonderkids up to us.

Sorry, we already have that deal with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium I'm afraid It's well documented that we've unearthed some ridiculous talent over recent years, but Moises Caicedo really is on another level. Last week he made West Ham's £100m Declan Rice look completely absent all game long and he seems to be able to do that every week. It's like he's a robot and we are very lucky to have him (not sure for how long though).

yes drive to Lewes on Sunday (either find free street parking nearby or the station car park is £2.40 on a Sunday with 290 spaces) then get your free 7 minute train ride to Falmer (which is the Stadium stop) Trains are approx every 20 minutes

I'm stopping in central Brighton with my kids on the Saturday night but need to get north straight after kick off. Where is the best place to park on the Sunday to be able to have a pint before the game but then be the right side of the Amex to head north after it finishes? Assuming it will be slow to head back into central Brighton and then try to get out again?

Tricky one this as quick getaways from The Amex are not really possible I'm afraid due to its quite remote location and lack of parking - so unless you leave on say 80 minutes to get the first train back to Lewes (in one direction) or Brighton city centre (in the other) but I guess you might not want to do that. However, the club's Park and Ride buses are pretty efficient and the Mill Road one will be definitely be best for anyone heading North afterwards, but, as always, you'll need to get parked there early before the match (2 hours ish before kick off) to get your car in, as its very popular. Then you could have drinks and enjoy the atmosphere with your fellow supporters in the stadium concourse.

Now this is quite funny - Falmer station is absolutely tiny and probably has 10 spaces at most so I don't really think its feasible But actually, you may have stumbled on a genius idea as everyone assumes theres no chance of parking there and in reality the handful of spaces always remain empty I don't often get the train there myself as we always drive and slow down nearby and get dropped off by the missus

I have just had a nice takeaway haddock in Whitby (northern seaside town). Managed to evade the seagulls so I would say Harry Haddock 1, Seagulls 0.
I have been to Brighton twice, but not to see Town play.
In the mid 1980s went from York by train and back, on the same day, representing the RAF in a 10km race-walk at Peacehaven.
I remember that the road course was hilly. And that it was a long way to go for such a short (ish) race. Also went in early 90s for a works conference. From memory, Brighton had a large pebble beach. Whereas Bournemouth had kind sandy beaches (and many young ladies from Italy, Spain abs France walking topless along the promenade) 😇

ill be honest thats not my specialist subject I'm afraid, and I know that generally you are not allowed to sleep overnight in your vehicle in most places.
Thank you

[img]Another option I've found for you campervan/motorhome fans who might be coming for the weekend is Bevendean.
I literally drove past yesterday to visit someone and saw several motorhomes/caravans parked up. It seems perfect as its not residential on either side, so you wont be bothering anyone and there are a few shops and a cafe over the road if you need them. Don't get me wrong, it's not a stunning area or anything, but might do you for free parking for a night or two with no hassle. Added benefit its a quick taxi or bus into brighton city centre and seafront and also you can see its not too far to the stadium either (top right of pic 2)
pics below with blue pin showing the exact point on the road to park

Bevendean? I'm not sure I would feel safe overnight. It has a bit of a reputation. At least it's not Whitehawk 🤣 Also, there may well be parking restrictions on match day. Certainly for parkrun on Saturdays, when there's a match, we are told to display a barcode if parking in Bevendean. Although, it's a different area.

You want to leave straight after kick off? Parking at Falmer station looks a possibility especially as you can do it via the app.

seriously, there are just 10 spaces its a tiny station and even if you book - some helmet will probably have taken your space anyway. I wouldnt risk it plus even if you did manage to get a spot therell be many thousands of people all milling around by your car - up to you though, but I wouldnt

Just a bit of info for anyone going via/parking in Lewes - their women’s team have their biggest ever game on the same day, home to Man U in the QF of the FA Cup. This will significantly impact parking (and pubs !) as the game has sold out. The ground is also near the station so the immediate area will be much busier than usual (including the station car park). Game kicks off at 12:30.

That doesn’t guarantee you a space unfortunately - it’s a pay and display - but you might be ok. There are several car parks in town if you can’t get in, all within 10 mins walk or so. It’ll be chaos around the station from about 10am I suspect

nothing near the ground at all I'm afraid - your best bet if not doing Lewes or Brighton City Centre is literally 'IN THE GROUND'

Seriously nothing at either………..get on the bus and get to the ground if you’re using Mill Hill. The only pub close to the ground is home-only. There are outside bars, food outlets and almost certainly live music etc at the ground and the concourse will have a decent range of food and drink (possibly including your own local ale to make you feel at home).

Looks like I have an option of train via Lewes or Brighton, is there generally a shorter queue into and out of Falmer in a specific direction?

I tend to go to Lewes after the game and it's usually OK (usually back there around 30-40 mins after the game has ended as a guide), but I don't think it makes much difference to be honest.

Really difficult to be sure but probably OK - but I would definitely avoid trying to use the station car park (it's only got a single lane in and out as well which isn't helpful). There will be close to 3,000 going to the Lewes/Man U game - the club car parks fill up when there's 600 going.

If I was you I'd go to Polegate, there's a large car park there, and a few pubs. Jump on the train straight to Falmer when you return after the game go straight up the A22 to the M25. That way you miss all the car traffic. Loads of Brighton fans from East Sussex, including me sometimes, get the train from Polegate

So went for a pint with the Mrs after work tonight in downtown Stevenage (excrement hole) got talking to a bloke and his Mrs turned out they are Brighton supporters, very complimentary about Town and absolutely knew loads about our recent history and some of the downs as well as the recent ups.

Yeah when teams come down for the weekend do their fans tend to congregate in any particular pubs the night before? When was the last time you had away fans take the full 15% of away allocation for the fa cup - presumably Liverpool did earlier this season?

Brighton on a Friday night/Saturday… Where are you recommending mate ?
If you want to enjoy good lively bars - then head for The Lanes area which runs right down to the seafront - literally hundreds of pubs/bars/clubs If you want to also try and find other town fans then groups of you lot are more likely to be allowed in to The King & Queen, Wetherspoons down West Street, the bars literally on the beach and maybe The Font in the daytime but possibly not at night time (you'd have to try it and see It's pretty hard trying to recommend specifics out side of these ones as we are so blessed with literally hundreds of bars/pubs - you'll love it Specific advice for matchday - Dont enjoy it so much that you end up missing the game - it will take about 20/30 minutes to stagger up from the City bars area to the station and there youll find thousands of others all trying to get on the trains to the stadium, so allow time to get there. With a 2.15 kick off I wouldnt want to be leaving the city centre pubs any later than 1.00pm really and that might be tight depending on the numbers doing the same. Don't forget you can have more beers at the ground

No we don't do that, our players arrive in their own cars as they have their own carpark and they generally get to the ground about 4 hours b4 kick off for prematch meal
Our players arrive on bikes with baskets on the front for their boots and packed lunch. The players are looking forward to the game especially the hot showers as it will be the first time for many of them since the energy crisis started

Albion fans are understandably a little touchy around comments such as the above even if they are made in jest. It stems from years of homophobic abuse by visiting fans of other clubs and whilst it may be amusing to some, calling someone a sodomist for a giggle doesn't go down too well....unlike your mum.

Might be a quirk of the swear filter on here, which changes “búgger” to sodomist.

Yeah, that’s exactly what it is. Our slightly bizarre swear filter which rather than blanking out naughty words, attempts to turn them into less offensive alternatives, except in this instance, it’s done the opposite.
It’s a bit of a blunt instrument with often weird (though not usually offensive) effects, to be honest. Probably time to turn it off or at least change it so that it just stars words out instead.

Do you know whats funny, I saw an article a few years back saying that in terms of adults who stated they were gay/lesbian, it was about 13.2% in Brighton & Hove and in the same article Manchester were just behind at 13.1%, but when we played Man Utd they're all singing about Brighton fans being gay, You literally couldn't make it up

When I was a student at Sussex Uni about 25 years ago I remember signing a petition to allow the controversial building of the AMEX in Falmer. Does this mean I get a complimentary ticket for the match? If it wasn't for people like me you might still be at The Withdean.

Nah we'd have just built it somewhere else (there were a couple of other options) but thanks for signing though

Do you know whats funny, I saw an article a few years back saying that in terms of adults who stated they were gay/lesbian, it was about 13.2% in Brighton & Hove and in the same article Manchester were just behind at 13.1%, but when we played Man Utd they're all singing about Brighton fans being gay, You literally couldn't make it up
Funnily enough, 10 years or so ago I took my wife for a weekend in Manchester for her birthday. I know Manchester fairly well these days but didn’t at the time, and booked a hotel called Velvet on Canal Street. Lovely hotel, but it was only in the evening in the hotel bar that it dawned on me that we were literally the only straight couple in there and we were, in fact, bang in the heart of Manchester’s gay district. Ended up having probably the gayest night out I’ve ever had, but also one of the best me and the missus have had together as a couple. Different vibe altogether. You won’t hear any homophobic nonsense from us (we don’t have a chant filter, fortunately). Not that we would anyway, but we’ll be to busy singing “c'est sera sera”. Hopefully…

That’s mental!

Yes I discovered Canal Street when stumbling very inefficiently back to my hotel after a footy match about five years ago. I stumbled on! Having said that have been to gay bars a couple of times with (then) colleagues on nights out in London. Actually a great vibe, same as standard pubs / clubs minus the toxic BS you often get. Also I’m pretty certain guys would have a much better chance there of pulling girls as there were plenty of straight lasses out with gay male friends when I went and no competition from other straight blokes! If only I’d known this when I was single

You can turn the swear filter off in your settings so some people will have read it as originally written. Its a weird replacement word as it definitely increases the chances of the phrase coming across as offensive, its a very literal translation of "búgger" which isn't how that word is intended 99% of the time

I think you have put the comma in the wrong place and preferably should have used inverted commas as the Brighton supporter could even take this the wrong way

I’ve stayed at Velvet…for work. Pull up a stool… On a snowy, winter night, much like last night, the only choices left in the city centre were a Brittannia hotel, Sascha’s or Velvet. So three suited gents, including two 6’4’’ egg chasers and me, of Hurstian proportions, check into Canal Street’s finest. Lovely hotel indeed. They definitely thought we were only going to use one room but were too embarrassed to tell them. I was to be the jam filling. One of the lads was from Whitehaven (not Scott Carson) and couldn’t believe his room had two plush, velvet chaise longues. Except the lad misheard me and thought they were called Shane Longs. When we got back to the office a couple of days later he was telling everyone about these Shane Longs in his hotel room. To this day his Fantasy Football team (and possibly his fantasy) is called ‘Two Shane Longs’.

Canal street is great, very unique experience but great all the same.
I stayed around there a while back whilst attending a gig, I went a night earlier to my mates and was bang in the middle so to speak.
Had some great conversations at the bar and whilst the gay scene has a dark and sinister underbelly, like every form of sub culture I guess, it was a great night and I guess it helped change my views and understanding of LGBTQ stuff…

Haha, I got put up in Velvet for work as it was really close to where I needed to be. It was memorable for two things, 1. It was the evening of the World Cup final So watched that in my room. 2. It was difficult to watch said game as they were making a porno in the next door room. Bizarre night.

Manchester is the only city I've visited where the hotels ask you if you want a room with a window. I've stayed numerous times in various hotels work send me to in the city and have come to the conclusion that windows don't add value to a hotel stay in Manchester. Quite the opposite in fact.

I'm still undecided but think I'm just going to just use the racecourse PNR as I'm coming along the coast from Eastbourne Sunday morning

We’re stopping in Worthing the night before. Had planned to park in Lewes early and head into Brighton, but that’d mean driving up past the ground, coming back to go into town, then going back out to Lewes after the match (where I reckon it’d be snided) and then coming back that way again to get on the A27. Ball ache this.

Hi, Any advice appreciated. We are staying Saturday night in Eastbourne. Myself and son will be going to the game, wife and daughter looking around Brighton whilst we do that. Any suggestions about best strategy for parking so we can get to the game, reconvene with the girls afterwards to come home?

Will the bars at the ground show the match that's on TV after ours? Man U v Fulham. OK so there is a tiny possibility that it doesn't matter to us after the game but...
I was hoping to watch that whilst the crowds disperse - assume bars that are available to away fans at the ground will show it?

Brighton racecourse I'd guess. I'm doing the same minus the 'baggage' of the shoppers 😄 Nice steady drive across the coast into Brighton, drop the girls off and head to the racecourse which isn't far away by the looks of google maps

Going straight Mill Road P&R is your easiest bet if driving from Worthing as it’s just along the A27, just aim to be parked up a couple of hours before ko as it fills up early. Away end is nearer the P&R bus queue so you should be away reasonably ok after the game if you’re in a hurry. Your plan is ok though if you want to go into Brighton, and get to Lewes early (bearing in mind the Man U game) - 20 mins or so by train back into Brighton, then train back to Falmer for the game and then a (7 mins) train to get back to Lewes after the game. Traffic from Lewes back on to the A27 post match is fine.

Hero, cheers mate. Last one from me - what time does the P&R start operating & do the buses go into Brighton from Mill Road? I know I sound like a country bumpkin here but I promise I’ve looked all over & can’t find an answer.

Thanks for the information you have offered so far, much appreciated. Can I ask one? If you were to park in Woodingdean how would you get to Falmer Station? Are there any trains, or buses that travel on the B2123 Falmer Road or is it easy enough and safe enough to walk?

Question about lease I am in E1l which I think is the away fans overspill for cup games where they get a higher allocation. Will I be be able to access the main South stand concourse bars etc for away fans? If not is there a bar in ElI . It is the very last block of the East stand level with the corner flag.

Foot/cycle path basically along the road all the way to the station/stadium which has recently been resurfaced so very safe and easy. It’s about 2 miles to the edge of the village (mostly downhill to the ground, uphill back to Woodingdean obviously). There is quite a bit of on street parking on Bexhill Road at the top of the hill and an industrial estate that is empty on Sundays. If the weather is nice, the views on the walk down are absolutely stunning by the way……..

Usually opens 3hrs before ko I think. Buses only shuttle from Mill Road to the ground and back, they don’t go anywhere near the city. There’s also a fair amount of info on here re travel options : https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/club/stadiums/the-amex-stadium/transport

I think the design of the ground means this effectively becomes part of the South Stand for cup matches like this with higher than usual PL allocations……if not, there will still be food & drink available for sure. We look after away fans very well (apart from the 🛎️🔚 lot visiting on Wednesday)

Had a decent night in a gay bar in Middlesbrough in 2005. That might have topped it but then my mate kind of got a bit stabbed on the way back from the bogs, which took the shine off things slightly.

All the Brighton fans that have come on here have been brill and a credit to your club
Thanks. Somebody got it. It somehow seems worse with the word 'sodomist". The word it replaced starting with 'b', ending with 'r' with a couple of 'g's" in the middle is often used in an endearing way. #banter #joke #Britishhumour #obvousappreciatetheoopistionfangivinghistime

Hi both, another Brighton fan in peace. Been reading this thread since the draw, and kudos to my fellow BHAFC fan who has answered all your questions and started this thread ... My thoughts on this one, drive from Eastbourne to Brighton racecourse and use that Park & Ride. It's free. Parking in Brighton is anything but! You can then get the free park and ride bus to the game from the racecourse or, if you wanted to have a drink in the city centre / drop the girls in town, get another bus (i think its the 22 outside the hospital or get a cab) into town and then the train to Falmer (bit of a faff). If you wanted to have a drink at the Park & Ride, the Fox on the Downs is a lovey pub at the top of the hill. Final advice (for all) , give yourself enough time.

Question for any of the Brighton supporters, I noticed Lewes ladies have Man U in the cup and have sold out, I think their ground holds around 3,000 so I assume parking will be harder in and around the Lewes area?

Yes, unfortunetly for you. It will be busier. That game kicks off at 12.30, so a lot of the parking might already be taken. Hard to say if the town will be full up, but it will be busy. Lewes has amazing pubs.

Thanks. Somebody got it. It somehow seems worse with the word 'sodomist". The word it replaced starting with 'b', ending with 'r' with a couple of 'g's" in the middle is often used in an endearing way. #banter #joke #Britishhumour #obvousappreciatetheoopistionfangivinghistime

Another question for you guys - I saw that trains from Brighton station are put on for anyone going to the match...with it being a sunday will they still be super regular?
Also, might sound like a daft question but do they check tickets when getting on those trains? I'm meeting my friend who has my ticket at the stadium y'see.
One more daft question (promise) - do you know if they have those lockers that you can pay to use at Brighton station? I'm working in London the following few days and dont fancy carrying my bag full of clothes and my laptop to the match hah.

No problems mate ... Train times as follows from Brighton to Falmer on Sunday 1205 - 1211 1217 - 1227 1247- 1257 1305 - 1311 1317 - 1327 - absolute latest you want to get the train. You could be waiting for 30+ minutes in the queue so aim for the train before the one you want to get. They won't check tickets. I'm pretty sure the there is no luggage store (could be wrong), but there is a facility close to the station (just had a google). It's close to The Laines as well which is 10/10 for pubs. https://www.citysparespace.com/locations/luggage-storage-brighton-station/?utm_source=googlemaps

Is getting an Uber to the ground a viable alternative to queueing for a packed train, or is getting there by road just a complete write-off altogether?

On your website, it looks like you can get a free train from Worthing is that the case? We are coming from Salisbury way on, so heading along the coast and want to head into Brighton prior to the match, is that the best option. Park in Worhting then train to Brighton, then train again to the ground.

Yes, Brighton has plenty of Uber or use https://www.brightontaxis.com/ 01273 204060 (you could preorder one) Again, give yourself enough time. Remember, the train is free though.

Why not just look at National Rail Enquiries? Some of you are going to be asking these poor lads if they'll nip to your hotels and wipe your arses before long 😂

Not sure of the answer to this but I'm staying in Eastbourne and heading in over to the racecourse (in Brighton not Wrexham) once we get kicked out our room at 10am, if you're close by more than happy for you to jump in with me and my lad

Yes - literally ANY station within the travel zone and the furthest points are Worthing out to the west, Haywards Heath to the north and Eastbourne to the east look here and scrol ldown to train map - shows all included stations https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/club/stadiums/the-amex-stadium/transport/free-travel-services
"You can use your matchday ticket or season ticket to use most services between 11.30am and 9pm for a 3pm kick-off and between 4.15pm and midnight for a 7.45pm kick-off. Free travel services for other kick-off times will vary accordingly" Does that mean the free travel will start at 10:45am? Can I just ride around as I fancy in that time?

They havent specifically given a start time but that would be about right. In my experience, you just show your match ticket if its quite early or from one of the lesser used stations and the staff will just let you through. If its from the big stations Worthing, Eastbourne etc there will usually be many others doing the same thing. If its at Brighton they dont even bother asking about tickets as there will be thousands doing it. With regards to riding around 'as you fancy' I'm not 100% sure as Ive never done that, it was designed to take you from any station in the zone to the ground but you might get away with it if you just say you are meeting someone when you get off at a different station. To be honest I'm not sure what they would do about it anyway, so you'll probably be fine

What about parking at/near Eastbourne station? Would that be easier?

Why on earth did Brighton build an out of town stadium with f#ck all parking?! I thought the idea was you either build in the town centre and make it park and ride, or you build out of town and make it car friendly. This is neither of those things. Seems completely ar#e about face to me.

We desperately needed a home and to cut a long story short, it was the best option that we could get approval for (and even that wasnt easy - trust me). Land down here is at a premium and all the other possible sites were violently opposed by councils/locals/green campaigners etc etc We're used to it now and it is a great stadium but I fully understand why away fans find it a pain in the ar se

Brighton is surrounded by hills and the sea. It took over 10 years to find a site and get planning permission. In one sentence I've covered something that was probably one of the hardest things any club has ever achieved to get a stadium of their own. At least our stadium is in the city and not in the next town along.

We are staying in Newhaven and then plan to use the park and ride at the racecourse.
The wife and kids want to go into Brighton while I'm at the match. Would I have to drop them off in Brighton first or can they use the park and ride and get the train into Brighton from Falmer?

Yes, they can do that. Park at the racecourse (free), then bus to the ground with you (also free) and walk to Falmer Railway Station (that way they get to see the ground as well! they can then get the train from Falmer to Brighton and meet them at the car at the end of the game, OR meet them in town (get the train back after the game). Or, they could get a bus from Brighton Racecourse (Elm Grove) into town.

The stadium is officially in Brighton, the coach park is in Lewes. The site borders both so to speak.

presume you mean the two park and ride car parks? If so - For the Grimsby game the Mill Road and Brighton Racecourse park & ride sites will open from 11.15am, with spaces allocated on a first come, first served basis

No mate, your lot released about 100 parking spots a couple of hours back & I snagged one. Unless I’ve bought for the wrong game, which is quite likely. Still 38 left if anyone’s quick enough - https://tickets.brightonandhovealbion.com/en-gb/categories/parking

oh I see - youre in the Bridge car park and as far as I know you can get there whenever you like beforehand (within reason) as its an open air car park. I've only used it twice before and got there about an hour before the game . Its very convenient for the stadium but can be a nightmare getting out so maybe hang around for a bit after

I’ve just opened an account with them, but then you have to link it to a Brighton season ticket, so I think I’ve been rumbled…..

Open to home & away fans mate. On the page about linking to an existing fan card (?) there’s a little bit of yellow text saying something like “issue a new number”. I got mine sorted no trouble. Saying that, I’m fully expecting to get turned away on Sunday for having not read it correctly somewhere. Always the danger when you’re meant to be working.

….it’s when I inputted my email address and realising that having the letters GTFC in it was not helping my cause. I knew that’d have repercussions one day!

I really do appreciate that, it’s so nice of you, but no, I’m going to decline and see where I end up on Sunday! But thank you, I’ll not forget how great you lot have been on this forum since the draw. I hope you don’t all do an about-turn after the final whistle, wink wink x.

To be honest I love what the FA cup is about. I've seen us at the final and the replay back in 1983, seen us in the semi a few years ago. I fully appreciate just what it means to fans of clubs lower down the pyramid. We're looking good in the league, we're currently living our dream. I'd love to lose to you if we can bank a European spot. To be fair we're likely to be close to Wembley again soon (last words) you may not unless it's in a play-off. We remember where we've come from, those that campaigned long and hard for where we are now, sadly many never got to see that final day when we moved back into a permanent ground in the city and then to the EPL.The club includes a history lesson to all new staff during induction, that's to new players, coaches down to the cleaners. It's important to us to remember our battle to survive. Enjoy your day.All of you!

I was born in Shoreham and lived in Lancing in the 60s. My first ever pro football game was on 5th November 1966-Brighton v Doncaster Rovers (0.0.) for my school mates birthday do in the days of the great Kit Napier. The old man was a Grimsby exile and we moved back up north in December 66 before I got hooked. Most posters on this board won't be aware of the dark Brighton days when, if I remember correctly the Goldstone was sold from underneath you and the exile at Gillingham began. Its a tribute to Brighton fans that you kept the club going. You deserve every success now. I hope one day we can emulate what's gone on in Sussex by the Sea.

I know what you‘re saying but there was a time not long ago that we called Wembley Blundell Park South because we were there so often (four times in four seasons, five in eight)!

You can turn the Red Cross into a green tick or even a gold star if you really feel bad - just go back to the post and press the alternative.

Everyone was probably at Fat Boy Slim - where I've just been! Try the Seafront / around the station / North Laines area if you are still out and about.

The Fox on the Downs Pub has an excellent roast dinner and is next to The Racecourse - if for tomorrow. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/....._Sussex_England.htmlIf tonight, get the bus into town. Laines / North Laines / Kemptown areas.

Sounds good to me! Have to say it's my first visit to Brighton and apart from a chav spitting at my son's feet for us wearing Grimsby gear it's been brilliant. The pier is fantastic

It’s such a pity we have such a strong preference for haddock and can’t bring ourselves to an association with the three letter word worm infested bottom feeder. Would have been great to hear 5,000 Town fans doing a Quadrophenia in Brighton. ‘We are the cod’s, we are the cod’s, we are we are, we are the cod’s’

oh I see - youre in the Bridge car park and as far as I know you can get there whenever you like beforehand (within reason) as its an open air car park. I've only used it twice before and got there about an hour before the game . Its very convenient for the stadium but can be a nightmare getting out so maybe hang around for a bit after but you should be OK as you will be late getting out of ground after your celebrations.
Just amended it for you

I’ve booked NCP loads on their web site (never in Lewes though to be fair) you’ll get a space as they measure the cars in and out via the ticket machine/system.

Sorry, can't help on the Eastbourne front. Beer in the ground, it varies, there we be an ale, probably Harveys, a larger and from this year we have had a new cider. We used to have a local beer on tap (to you) for each away team as well, unsure if that is still the case. Lewes parking - with the womens game, i'm not going to say it will be fine 100%, but best bet is to give it a go now. There are plenty of amazing pubs and places to eat if you wonder around the town. The Patch is a nice place to eat, but here is a good list as well: https://wanderingourworld.com/.....08.%20Snowdrop%20InnAnother thing on my mind for tomorrow, it's a cashless stadium.

Brighton as a club are a blueprint of we should strive to be IMO ,pure class all round .
Especially when you look at where they where a few years ago. No ground and playing at an athletics track

If we were ever to emulate Brighton then although our owners are doing an excellent job I’m afraid we would need to find a billionaire. To get where they are including the new ground does not come cheap.

Very well played in the first half today gents, you completely stifled us down to just a handful of chances and it didnt seem much different to playing some Premier league teams. Obviously you ran out of steam in the second half and superior fitness levels came into play but your fans were immense. I made sure me and my boy stayed to clap your players off at the end. All the best, I'll always look out for Grimsby scores from now on.

We haven't played Man Utd since the 40's, hold the record attendance at their ground, and Brighton go and draw them in the semi-final!
I hope Brighton go on to win it and secure European football. Lots of similarities and they have been through the mill as a club so deserve their current success. Their fans have been top drawer on here too.

As I posted on the 'Just got back thread' , today was a pleasure and what football is about. We, were 20 minutes from non-league and (probably) going out of business. Now, well, it's the best season we have ever had, and having watched us in 4 league grounds, and for a decade at at The Withdean, I'm determined to enjoy every moment. So glad you all seemed to enjoy our city and the weekend out. We remember what it was like being down there, so a part of me was a little sad you couldn't get one back right at the end, but you had your moment at the end of the game. I've loved answering some of your questions, and I'm sure other Albion fans have too, brought back a lot of memories. I've also tried to attach some pictures. Your fans did your club and your town credit. I have to say, when we first drew you, I was apprehensive as it brought back memories of getting relegated on a roasting hot day at Blundell Park twenty years ago (Palace supporting neighbour put an inflatable fish outside our house as a result) but I'm happy for you. Will keep an eye out for you, good luck and all the best for the future. A couple of nice videos here too as well: https://twitter.com/NorthStandChat/status/1637488453834227712?cxt=HHwWgIC-6dXEw7ktAAAAhttps://twitter.com/JohnTondeur/status/1637486790020931586

And my view at the end of the game. Very pleased you got a well deserved reception after the game from both sets of fans.

The Fox on the Downs Pub has an excellent roast dinner and is next to The Racecourse - if for tomorrow. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/....._Sussex_England.htmlIf tonight, get the bus into town. Laines / North Laines / Kemptown areas.

Brighton, great team, good hosts - a proper club. Lovely to see some of the Brighton support clapping our players off at the end, no go on and win it.
I was going to post about that. Quite a few of the them stayed and clapped our fans and players until they left the field, which was probably a good 15 minutes after the final whistle. What a credit to their club. Hope they do well.

A big thank you to all the Brighton fans that have been on here since the draw was made, offering help with parking, pubs etc - you're a credit to your club! Also a big thank you to Brighton as a club and a city for making us all feel very welcome. I have to say, that despite the result, Sunday will stay with me for a very long time. Brighton and their fans showed class both on and off the field, a really great club and I hope you go on and win it now and get into Europe, you deserve it
