A million years ago, my folks used to run the Mariners Rest and our Friday treat as kids was a flip flop between either the Pea bung or Cox's. Standard order shouted from the waitress was haddock, chips, peas all with scraps. All with tea and bread & butter.

Condensed into 2 words.... "4 With"

Bread and dripping on a Saturday night after my mum cooked the Sunday roast (she always did it the night before). God I haven’t had that for decades.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Maybe not having any for decades has been good for me.
