Remain had a kitchen sink of truths thrown at it, whilst Leave had a kitchen sink of lies thrown at it. Im looking out over the Down coast at the moment - the subject of one of the biggest lies of all - there will be no customs border in our country…

Which sink of truths do you mean?
Because looking back there were so many sink of truths, I’m amazed that the majority of the British public still voted leave!

Was it the punishment budget with immediate tax hikes and cuts to the NHS, Education and defence?

Or was it the sink of truth threat to peace in Europe?

For one reason or another and in some fashion those ‘lies’ have been strangely prophetic!

Ha ha yeah you could say that, but that would be more than a tad disingenuous!

But then again there are some that strangely believe that if we’d still been in the EU, then we wouldn’t be having the same problems we and ironically the EU have now!

Inflation would be lower
Interest rates would be lower
Food prices would be lower
Labour shortages would be less severe
Industrial supply chains would be easier
There would be no border in the Irish Sea
Northern Ireland’s assembly would be up and running
There would be shorter queues at ports and airports
Our policy for dealing with small boats would be coordinated with Europe
Our outstanding creative industries would have full access to lucrative European markets.
The suction power of our vacuum cleaners would be lower mind…

I wonder if becoming purple-faced with rage about an EU-legislated reduction in vacuum suction motor power is a sex thing? It would explain a lot.

Interesting how the polling is now changing, isn't it?

Another remain Lie was that Brexit would cost up to 3 million jobs, but we’ve actually reduced our employment rate from 4.7% to 3.9% since we left the EU and we’ve added a million jobs to our economy. Speaking of growth France has grown 8.8% Britain 8.7% Germany 8.1% Italy 6.1% so clearly not having affect on growth the way it was predicted. By July 2022 our exports to Europe were not only the highest since Brexit they where the highest ever!

Had an extremely interesting meeting with the chap in charge of immigration etc for our region this week.

He made some very interesting points, mainly regarding the knock on effect of Brexit, things that sensible people recognised and mentioned but those so desperate to ‘take back control’ failed to see…

It is now harder to deport Foreign National criminals since leaving the EU than it was before and the Home Office is swamped, the actual control has dwindled and is actually putting the country at risk…flipping mind blowing, and yet it was all about ‘taking back control’ apparently.

The whole presentation was fascinating on many levels and was great to hear without any political bias but someone just stating fact.
