Sacked the best Home Secretary we’ve had in a long time, what a sad state of affairs when the Tory’s buckle to the left. Braverman will be PM in 5 years.

Give your head a wobble. I hope there’s somebody left that still cares enough about you to help you when it dawns on you that you’re down a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and racial hate.

Cameron back in government. FFS!

Seems to signal Sunak waving the white flag on the culture war they have been attempting to start.

Will be interesting to see if 30p Lee-noch is sacked later on when the reshuffle reaches the low level of government posts that his position occupies.

Do you think his sacking is likely?

I have no idea, but if Sunak is trying to give the impression that the grown up are in charge again then keeping him in place would not back that up.

YouGov are generally pretty good at polling. But if you've had a quick word with 15 of your workmates then I'm certain that must be representative of the population as a whole.

The BBC seem to think that Cameron's return is to attract southern voters who are flirting with the Lib Dems.

If 30p Lee does get the boot I'd have to agree with you that it sees a move to the centre but Sunak will have trouble brewing because the Tory right wing will coalesce around their mouthpieces getting sidelined.

Sunak's problem is that he just can't keep all the elements of his party happy at the same time, meanwhile the 'big beasts' are all plotting behind his back as they sniff a run at the leadership. Like rats fighting in a sack.

The biggest problem with the Tories (and there are many), is that the next leader of their party will be elected by a bunch of gibbering, geriatric bigots. Hence the move ever-rightwards. Over the past few months, especially, it's pretty frightening to see just how much this pathetic excuse for a government has been pushing towards fascism. Look at the 14 points common to fascism from Umberto Eco's famous essay:

https://www.openculture.com/20.....ures-of-fascism.html

Pretty much every one of these has been pushed by the Tories over the course of this parliament. A handful of more centrist, moderate Conservative politicians have spoken out (and been booted out of government), but the cowardly and supine majority (this includes you, Martin Vickers) stay quiet in outright self-interest.

Lower than vermin.

It doesn't say much for the rest of the Tory MPs when a non MP is given the job of Foreign Secretary.

If my approval rating amongst people who know who I am was 15% I'd be really upset and concerned. Particularly if nearly half of them don't like me and the rest don't care.
