Obviously nothing to see....
On another bleak day for the crisis-torn county, former chairman Roger Hutton branded Yorkshire “institutionally racist” and said he could not sack executives in charge during Rafiq’s time due to a power of veto held by the Colin Graves Family Trust, which is owed millions of pounds by the club.
The incompetent, obfuscating report - commissioned by Yorkshire took 2007 as its starting point, but there is so much smoke - and fire - that their new whistle-blowing hotline will surely be jammed.
Not only Yorkshire’s players and management but some supporters too have been guilty of sins of commission, and of omission by turning a blind eye or deaf ear to racism. “Headingley, the home of Yorkshire cricket, is the only ground in the world where I have experienced any form of racial prejudice,” the late Malcolm Marshall, arguably the finest ever fast bowler, said in the 1980s. “There is a hard core who are never slow to voice their hatred for the West Indian players.”
Wow some dude being called a mean word over a decade ago is a bigger news story than a terrorist trying to suicide bomb a Remembrance Day parade.

Hang on put your false virtue signaling outrage to one side for a minute, One of our great England captains a true leader who gave this Country one of our best spectacles in living memory as now been called a racist and already condemned all on someone’s say so, NO evidence! Where is your defence for Vaughn? ??? Who strongly denies all allegations! It seems get accused of racism them you are already guilty and that’s not a world I want to live in. Is it not feasible that this could just be a pack of lies? The player currently doing the accusing never ever spoke out in 11 years! No record what so ever, funny enough thou he was reprimanded for a racial slur against a white South African! He then left the club that was so terrible and then went back? Ive been listening to Monty Panesar who has never experienced anything that’s been mention, as an ex team mate of Vaughn you would of thought he would of heard the odd racist expletive. If it was ever proven these clubs have been treating players as second class with racial abuse I would absolutely back 100% that they have the book and the kitchen sink thrown at them. W

Vaughan has a history of posting discriminatory & islamophobic content across his own social media channels.

Really? Check out his autobiography which came out at the time these allegations where rife, he says some wonderful stuff about his Asian colleagues and talks positively about how home grown Asian players are the future. Joe Root another great role model a Yorkshire player who is not shy at putting his head above the parapet and calling his players out, like in the Ollie Robinson case, has said he never witnessed players being racially abused. If the accuser had mentioned just something on record I would be more sympathetic, it’s not like it was back in the 70s this was a socially unacceptable time and action would of been taken, but no he waited until his career finished before pointing the finger using terms like inhumane!!! But sadly for Vaughn the default is guilty until proven innocent when accused of racism.

If you want evidence about Michael Vaughan I suggest you listen to the entire select committee hearing from yesterday morning. I believe BBC Radio 5 Live broadcast it in its entirety so it should be available on BBC Sounds. It is worth noting multiple witnesses/victims have now made allegations against your hero Vaughan who himself denies any wrong doing. I would just politely point out that denying wrongdoing just means he thinks he didn’t do anything wrong. It doesn’t mean he didn’t say the horrific things attributed to him. It means he doesn’t see it as an issue. I would also point out that if Vaughan didn’t target any abuse at or in the presence of Monty Panesar whilst on England duty it makes me think that Vaughan was well aware that his reported actions at Yorkshire were unacceptable and he conducted himself in a better manner whilst on England duty. And virtue signalling is a pathetic insult intended to downplay racism and discrimination. It’s from the play book that if a person of colour makes claims of or a stand against racism against them they are just bitter about something and can’t be trusted & if a white person does the same they are just “virtue signalling. The truth is issues like those discussed at the select committee yesterday hold a mirror up to this country. Personally I’m quite happy with what I can see looking back at me. I’m not racist. Can you say the same?

For someone who demands forensic like evidence of any racist/homophobic abuse before you believe it might possibly have happened you’ve decided for yourself that he was a suicide bomber & that he was going to target a nearby Remembrance Sunday event. Where have you got this information from? I’ve not seen any press release/statement from Police etc… that have said he was a suicide bomber and what his intended target was. So how do you know he was a suicide bomber and the bomb didn’t just go off “accidentally” in transit? And how do you know he was going to target the Remembrance Sunday event & not the women’s hospital? I mean if he wasn’t going to target the hospital why did he book his taxi to take him to the hospital? It’s almost like you’re being a hypocrite.

I watched the hearing in parliament. It was a nice cosy chat where the complainant was allowed the freedom of Westminster to air all his grievances without anybody questioning him about the accusations. I note that he made 40 allegations, of which 7 were upheld by an Asian majority supervisory panel who gave their report. Some were about racism but not all. One said he was not offered halal food as a junior at the club. The supervisory panel did not find YCC institutionally racist as there was not enough evidence. It was said that so many people at Yorkshire went over and above to help the complainant in all aspects of his life, and not just his cricketing career. Despite the constant help he received he was often criticised by people at the club for being an awkward and difficult character with a complex personality - such as constantly demanding staff support for all sorts of things and falling out with journalists and his management team for not following club rules. Some said he seemed to be on a one-man mission to destroy YCC despite spending most of his career there as a junior and senior cricketer and being captain of the junior sides. He even came back after leaving for another county. YCC has been overwhelmed and has very little chance of giving their side of the story - they are faced with a media terrified of questioning his allegations, top-notch London law firms working for Azeem Rafiq waiting to pounce on any misstep and sponsors deserting them (some of whom have less than perfect human rights credentials themselves) and human rights lawyers circling like vultures. Yorkshire staff have been issued death threats and I think Martyn Moxon is off with a stress-related illness. I see that Rafiq turned down £100k but settled for £200k. I agree with you that racism should be punished absolutely, but this is a difficult and complex case for sure.
