no because he is not proven as a manger in England and plus he used to work in investment banking.

He's over a decade working his way up through the ranks on merit alone. How many of today's managers would have got their jobs had they not been good at kicking a ball? There's a traditional of choosing former players as managers, but there's no great reason to do so if my opinion.

If he was trusted to run Burnley U23's it suggest he knows a bit about coaching! Not the kind of job you give to a no hoper.

In common with most (if not all) GTFC fans, I don't know anything about him or his background but he must have the necessary coaching qualifications or he wouldn't have been offered the job.

I, for one, welcome him to the club and wish him every success, let's give the man our support and full backing.

The simple truth is we need a coach who can turn quite a few sow's ears into silk purses or else we're doomed to relegation. He can only work with the mess left by Slade and I wait to see if he can improve these players individually and collectively to get the necessary points to keep us up. If he can do that, then he'll have proved himself to be quite a coach and well worthy of the manager's job.

Let's get behind him and give him a chance before writing him off.

Lawrie McMenemy wasn't a professional footballer.

Not taken in by this appointment
MJ seems all too polished
Seen those who “talk a good un” before
This is not the time for an experimental manager
I fear this is such a bad decision at the wrong time
We will be in bottom two if all teams win their games in hand
And we are experimenting?
Really Really am trying to be optimistic but struggling
Red Cross me some hope
Come on Town!!!!

We supposedly asked McCann and Brown only to get turned down by both. Who else was realistically available who is actually proven to be any good? It's all well and good saying we need an experienced manager but I'd rather take a chance on someone than go with someone who's proved themselves to be crap.
