Why? He put in some good performances for us last season. He seemed to be the only one who knew how to, positionally, play the holding midfielder role at times. He was used in several different roles by us though, so he also had versatility. I thought he was a decent young player and he could still develop further.

There were some good performances but more often than not he was pretty anonymous. He was okay at breaking up play but was very slow in thought and deed whilst in possession to the point where in some games he was a complete liability. It's quite telling that I haven't seen that  many fans on here, if any, calling for us to get him back suggesting he wasn't that highly rated and that was whilst playing in L2. He's 22 so will still develop a bit but not to the extent where he'll go from being an average at best L2 midfielder (like he was last season) to being a regular Championship starter.

Agreed he was inconsistent. But he was still a youngish lad in a very inconsistent team. I thought he read the game well and offered some protection to the back four and not many of our midfield offered that last year. Occasionally he would be caught trying to off load a ball he won but for me this was because he looked for a teammate to play it too rather than launch it up front like most of them. Unfortunately, for him his fellow midfielders movement off the ball was often poor, perhaps in expectation of him 'launching one'. In a team that perhaps play a more progressive style of football, you may see the best of him.

It's is also quite telling that his parent club have offered him another contract. They must see something.

I disagree, in a team that looks to play more passing football I think he'd struggle as his ball control is generally poor and he would regularly fail to complete simple passes. I know it's far easier to see the whole picture from in the stand but he use to regularly infuriate me by spending too long to make what looked like an obvious, simple pass and would get dispossessed. He's still young, he might improve to be Championship standard but I would be very surprised if he was ever a regular starter at that level.

Fair play. I disagree with your summation of him but I guess that is what these forums are for. It would be a boring place if we all agreed.

For all his ability, doesn't strike me as a Slade-y type of player so I'd be amazed if we were to see any more of him.

I'd imagine he could be very capable if you were to build your team around him but the question remains, is he good enough to do this at this level? Might be on his way back down to the Conference, I suppose, where he could do a very good job for somebody.

I think ability wise he is more than capable at this level.  What appears to be questionable is his application ??

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I perhaps wasn't clear enough. I was trying to say that Vose has loads of ability but I think you would probably need to build your style of play around him to see the best of it. My question is whether he is good enough to build your team around at this level! Perhaps a bit too hit and miss to make it worthwhile.

That said, he generally plays out on the left, so perhaps if you've got a more athletic midfield to cover in behind him, you would see more from him? Still don't think we'll be interested, though he was unplayable on a few occasions last season.

If it gets to deadline day and we still have some cash in the wage budget then why not. He always gives you something a bit different and would be a useful sub if a game situation dictates. Basically he's a luxury player.
