Evans does have 6 promotions to his credit though, including getting Rotherham from League 2 to the Championship.

Although Mansfield have signed loads of players already,

I would not say they are the best out there,

Slade will get in better players imo,

BUT

Mansfield will be up there because the manger will turn them into a team that is capable of promotion.

I`ve got to admit he knows a decent player at this level and his signings would have been planned in advance where it was possible

I totally agree, but spending freely doesn't guarantee instant success.

It increases the chances though, if you have lots of good players, with a manager with 6 promotions to his name, I'd make them as good as favourites next season.
