I had pulmonary embolisms after my first two which nearly finished me but I still had my booster. So far so good. Those that don't get vaccinated can make as many excuses as they wish but are putting the greater population at risk with their selfishness. Bring on vaccine passports etc and make the unvaccinated pay for their choice

To be honest, it's to be expected. It's basic psychology.  The more you fear, the more you look at ways for security. To some people, they discard facts on the dangers of the vaccine as they only want to quell the fear.
You only have to look at the promises that have been consistently broken
"Covid passports will never be a thing"
"You will only need one vaccination"
"Vaccinated people are much less likely to be hospitalised " ( This has already been proven false by many Doctors, nurses and other professionals )

Another danger we are seeing is some form of witch hunt against unvaccinated. Regardless to the reason for not being vaccinated it's becoming apparent that some are forming hate speech against the unvaccinated, and saying things like " it's their fault if they die" or "unvaccinated shouldn't be given healthcare or benefits". This is basically how hitler got Germany to hate the Jews... segregate a nation and make the segreated minority look as though they are vermin... And before you say that's ridiculous to compare. I'm not talking about necessary violence,  more the mentality side of things.

Of course, the other issue is that the majority of nurses are unvaccinated ( hmm I wonder why?) And they are part of this directed hatred. Yet last year most people were clapping them and thanking them for saving lives...

It just amazes me how poisonous humanity can be sometimes and people really should use this opportunity to look at themselves and ask " How did I react to my fellow person during the pandemic"...

As a student doing a degree in Psychology and Criminology I whole heartedly agree with you. The hate speech is particularly worrying, divide and conquer at its finest. Cognitive dissonance is absolutely rife in this thread and the other thread never mind some of the stuff I'm seeing on social media.

The rhetoric used throughout has been abhorrent and those that have preached the whole ‘be kind’ thing have then lambasted those making their own decisions. The notion that unvaccinated people are the problem is divisive and has served to merely divide the population and then guilt trip or bully people in to having a vaccine. Not everyone refusing or not wanting it is an anti/vaxxer but again, that’s been the implied idea.

Covid has shown both the worst and best in people, sadly, with governments using quite strong and coercive language, varied methods of presenting data and at times that ridiculous ‘war time mentality’ notion it has just polarised society. Those that have taken a keen interest are being mocked, those that couldn’t care less have been called churlish or immature, and then everyone else is stuck in the middle, simply wanting to carry on with their lives…

It’s a mess…

Absolutely spot on, not once have I judged someone for getting vaccinated. I'll say it again for those in the back, if you feel at risk from Covid, get vaccinated, it can clearly reduce the severity of your symptoms.

Funnily enough, the least amount of prejudice and highest amount of understanding I've received  with regards to my choice not to be vaccinated has come from NHS medical professionals, my mental health team. That isn't to say that everyone else is judgemental, there are clearly level headed people about, such as yourself.

FOur premiership games off due to COVID.  I wonder if they forfeit their games?  Course not.  Play whoever and tell them to enjoy it. Who cares if we get drubbed?  Maybe if we play without fear of losing we scrape a win.

TWENTY-ONE games in total across the Prem and EFL are already postponed. Going to be quite a few default 2's in the buster this week.

There’s going to be some pretty chaotic fixture congestion in the New Year. I do think the madness will be relatively short-lived, but I can very few games being playable come early-to-mid January.

Perhaps you can illuminate us with the facts on the danger of the vaccine. Obviously you will equally highlight the numbers of vaccines given and the numbers of people it has reasonably guessed to have saved from serious illness/death. Your comment on promises is disingenuous. All the experts have constantly been clear that this is a new virus and the situation changes because the facts change, because we are constantly acquiring new knowledge.
Your comment about vaccinated people NOT being less likely to be hospitalised is patent nonsense. For example the majority of cases being seen in london hospitals at present are unvaccinated people.
Equally ridiculous and very objectionable is you trying to equate people making a choice not to have a vaccine with 6 million Jews who were exterminated.they, I might remind you, didnt have a choice.you should apologise immediately for such a disgraceful comment
Finally you are completely wrong re nurses.3 months ago only 8% of the NHS staff were unvaccinated, so your assertion that the majority of nurses are unvaccinated is complete bollox

Unvaccinated people being compared with Jews in Nazi Germany.

That’s quite enough Fashy Fishy for me today. Toodle pip.

I, of course anticipated this form of illogical reply, and I understand your unwillingness to read the whole post ad no-one would like to read facts that contradict their forced beliefs.

As mentioned this isn't likened to the violence, but the segregation of a nation through fear and ideology. I'm more than happy to advise on books that show the particular tactics Hitler used to achieve this, as this really isn't a new tactic and has been used since the roman times, including the Spanish inquisition and the churches hunting down scientists during the Middle ages. So repute this fact if you wish, bit the usual "Did he just use hitlers tactic to prove himself right " is both illogical and frankly dangerous because this use of "Fear" dates back way before Hitler....

Of course, it won't make a single bit of difference to some vaccinated as they are in the fear mode I talked about before, which is fine, just a bit sad really. Some are already showing the kinda human they want to be seen as during the pandemic.

Anyway, I've said my piece.

All the best.

23 games postponed now and there'll probably be a few more before tomorrow.
