Anyone know what's happening with the kits for this season? Seems a bit odd that there's been no word yet, especially with father's day this weekend

Just wondering. We'd need one before the kit went on sale

They’ll still probably sell out so can’t imagine Father’s Day is much of a big deal for us.

I think they will follow the norm - shirts, shorts, socks and the players will choose their own boots.😉

When their sponsorship was originally announced before last season it was only ever a one season deal, there has never been any announcement that it would be extended (not yet at least...)

People need to chill out about this MyEnergi thing. Yes, they’re cutting staff, but they had a boom and now they’re on a slight downturn. They’re going from 400 to 300 employees, and the extra 100 were, by all accounts, largely temporary due to the boom they had. No biggy, although a downer for those let go.

I have no affiliation with them, but I’d imagine they’re still in a good place financially. That new factory they’re building is proper, and won’t come cheap. I’m assuming they’re a solid bet.

I'm afraid it's far more drastic than that especially the production staff. It's an absolute shambles and a lot of good people have been let down by poor management. Not the first and won't be the last to suffer that fate

Another opportunity for people to bash the club for something that I believe they’ll be working hard on.

I don't think anyone is 'bashing the club' - I'm pretty concerned that Myenergi isn't going to be in a position to renew.

What are you banging on about? You appear to be extremely thin skinned on a constant basis on behalf of the club.

Given last season’s success and exposure I would hope we would be able to secure a far more lucrative front of shirt deal than the one we had last season with myenergi whether that he with a new sponsor or with myenergi remaining as shirt sponsor for next season.

People have a right to be concerned about the financial implications to the club of the apparent imminent collapse of the main sponsor. And doubly so when we’ll potentially all be buying shirts with a sponsor that might change during the season (or before it) if the worst happens.

If I was thin skinned I wouldn’t come on here, I just don’t get why “some” people (not loads) just jump at every opportunity.

People have the right to be concerned when there is something to be concerned about, though our shirt sponsor has had to make people redundant which isn’t good there may not be a direct impact on GTFC, we just don’t know, the club may have a plan B. Just because we haven’t released a shirt yet there is an assumption that it’s down to the sponsors, it may well be but we’ll only get to know when there is something to know.

Completely agree that we should have a lucrative shirt sponsor and I wouldn’t be bothered if it came with stadium naming rights but why some can’t just let 1878 get in with it amazes me.

I miss the days when the club would sign 6-figure sponsorship deals with random, low ranking employees of public limited companies.

Ahem, I think you're forgetting the value of having said company logo sprawled across the front of a home-made shirt that was so resistant to water that it could have been used as a kayak.

I'm sure the club at the time tried to spin it as they were hoping other clubs would end up buying kits from GTS!

I can't remember if it was advertising tickets for the Gy Boro game or the Clee Town match but the club showed a picture of a Town shirt with the current shirt sponsor details covered over by the match tickets which wasn't subtle.

If the sponsorship was supposed to be for three seasons and the Company is in trouble, was enough due diligence done by GTFC?

I can’t comment on the goings on at Myenergi, but it’s probably worth noting that last season’s home shirt wasn’t revealed until 30th June. There are probably a number of factors which dictate when a club receives their allocation of replica kit from suppliers, one of them almost certainly cost (with clubs paying a premium to be sooner off the production line), but I don’t see the lack of announcement so far as any indication of issues with the club’s main sponsor.

Realistically, it makes no material difference whether kit is made available for sale in late May or mid-July - patterns from last season suggest shirts and other merchandise will sell well and probably outstrip supply.

I am fairly confident that due diligence will have been done with regard to Myenergi’s ability to honour the full-term of any sponsorship deal, and even though no amount of DD can offer full protection (especially in such volatile economic times), I would like to think that any fatal issues would have been made public by the club by now.

I suspect we’ll see the new home shirt inside the next fortnight, and I’d be surprised if the Myenergi logo wasn’t on it.

I had in the back of my mind that Jason Stockwood was an investor in myenergi ( I could be wrong). If he was, it's in his interest to help them out with national publicity. Not a massive cost to him putting them on the shirt of his football club. Again...I could have made this up as I can't find any mention of it online.

What about those that did the shirt sleeve for the FA Cup..could they be potential sponsors for this season in some capacity? Shirt sleeve/shorts ..?

I don't think it's fair to level the due diligence card at the board regards myenergi. They are a young company which brings a level of risk and they have grown very aggressively which adds risk. They have however been backed by Terry League. As a young company, redundancies are more concerning than when they are made by Young's. 100 jobs under threat at myenergi is a quarter of their workforce, whilst 285 at Young's Marston Road is a much smaller proportion of their workforce.

There are huge problems with clothing supply chains and the big clubs obviously take priority as they sell more shirts. Barnsley played their first friendly against Worksop last season in their 2021/22 Puma away kit due to delays with their new one. I understand why we might not have it yet, but surely we could have seen it and given people a chance to pre-order it?

There are Premier League clubs that haven’t revealed or released their new kits yet. We’re still 7 weeks away from the start of the season; I don’t think it’s particularly unusual or concerning.

They’ll be released in the next couple of weeks.

Of course a Football Club should do due diligence on any company they may be hand in hand with especially something as major as shirt sponsorship.

Of course a Football Club should do due diligence on any company they may be hand in hand with especially something as major as shirt sponsorship.

True but as HSBC were happy to loan them £30m as recently as this April according to press reports it’s unlikely any DD undertaken last summer would have thrown up a problem

Yes they should, but I don't think this a sponsorship you can suggest a lack of due diligence over. As a relatively young company in a volatile industry, they are obviously at risk of going pop but banks are happy to lend them significant money and Terry Leahy backed them.

There are a few signs that point to there being a potential wobble with our shirt sponsorship, and I think it's fair that a few of us are concerned about that.

Leahy is an avid Everton fan probably still reeling from those two defeats in the seventies and eighties and put his foot down.

I’m not too concerned about MyEnergi, friend of mine works for them and he says they’re flat out most of the time and it was the temps that haven’t been kept on. My main issue is with Macron, they seriously need to up their game / sort out their issues regarding getting supplies to clubs, otherwise clubs won’t be renewing their agreements.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Incidentally Southampton have just released theirs in the last hour. I thought they were a very poor advert for their then Premier League status in every regard when we beat them back in Feb, but that’s a very nice retro effort indeed (scummy betting sponsor aside).

Macron was a 3-year deal of which this is the final season coming up. I heard it won’t be renewed.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we ended up going with Oxen. They are based in Doncaster and manufacture in the UK. I think they do Donny and Lincoln already.

Hope & Glory would be my pick, if they have the capacity. They manufacture the Clee Town and Broadley shirts.

All differing opinions but I don't like that one bit. Southampton are one of those clubs who have messed about too much with their traditional red and white vertical stripes.

That has a touch of Denmark ‘86 to it, which makes it a winner in my eyes.

For those who are too young to know that one, google it - it’s a beauty.

Football shirts are indeed very subjective. Maybe it’s the nostalgia; it just reminds me of my early years watching football when it was all new and exciting and the top flight wasn’t a mere díck swinging competition for the super-rich.

Here’s Grimsby’s own Glenn Cockerill modelling the original version.

I'm going to guess something along the lines of

We want to update our supporters on the launch of our exciting new kit.

We were initially hoping that the replica shirts would be here in time for Father’s Day, but delays in transit beyond our control has meant that they aren’t with us yet.

The Club is hopeful that they will be here within the next few days, and we will update supporters as soon as they are available on-line and in the Club Shop.

Please bear with us – we’re really hopeful that you will love our new stripes when the shirts arrive at Blundell Park.  Thank you for your patience.

I have a suspicion about our issues with Macron. I know nothing and have no evidence to back this up but..

They support a lot of clubs through all levels of football across Europe and support UEFA with referees kit etc. They appear to be a pretty slick operation.

I suspect that they have a strict pecking order of preparing kits and we, as a lower league English side, are well towards the bottom of that pecking order. They already have EPL and other top division kits in the shops and they do that because they know they will sell thousands of them. We are a low priority for them, especially as (I suspect) we have the bare minimum agreement deal with them for what we will use/buy/sell.

They'll get a load more grief if they don't get Palace's kit in the shops than they will if they make Grimsby fans wait.

I don't like this and I don't support it, it's just my suspicion.

hmm, not so sure. They sponsor/support/provide a lot of kits for UK teams - why would Palace/Forest/Stoke's kit not be subject to Brexit while ours is?

Not really.  We've worn red socks since 2004, and most of that time has been miserable.  Perhaps you have fond memories of 1979-80.

The Mariners wore white socks during the Buckley promotions in 1990, 1991 and 1998 (black socks for the two Wembley wins).

I'm not keen on red socks as they don't match the shirts at all.  They make the club appear unprofessional.  It's like the kit person brought the away socks by mistake.

Being told they are hopeful on getting a date of the kit delivery, sometime this week (date of delivery, not actual kit).
Expecting an announcement this week or next.

I can see the club having to honour this and next season’s contract and then duly kicking Macron into touch at the first opportunity. It’s all a bit cack, all this, and i suspect the club feel let down.

This is the last season they’re our technical sponsor. 21/22 22/23 23/24 - they’ll definitely be a new one next season.

Aha, even better!

I have last seasons quirky blue shirt with green trim and I’ll admit I think it’s decent, but that home shirt with the dog collar was a huge misstep, and people have complained about the quality.

Other than Adidas and Nike though, I couldn’t tell you who makes decent kits nowadays.

Breaking news…Macron‘s new black and white stripey kit arrives…at St Mirren.

Quite nice to be fair; a stripey back always a big plus. Wouldn’t mind something similar.

Am sure someone technically gifted can do it, but wonder what it would look like with red collar and arm trim

Interesting that Oxfords home shirt is pinstripes

We mention ‘new stripes’

And it’s the anniversary of pinstripe 93/94 season shirt

As long as its not like Grantham Town Football Club, I saw the GTFC on the shirt with the black&white stripes. Bit of a shock.  Just looks like someone pulled the threads.
If I knew how to insert a .jpg I would have.

Mint. That but with red collar and cuffs would see my first home shirt purchase in about 7 years. Do not like the block backs on our home shirts

Shades of one of the mid nineties Ciba kits. Macron would claim it as a throwback to that even though it’d have been completely by accident.

My thoughts exactly! I've kinda fallen in love with that kit, simple, stylish, smart and would make my top 3 shirts. I wouldn't consider myself an avid collector but I'm north of 70 now in various sizes and conditions for Town and certainly on paper that ranks right up there. Which means the club are going to have to pull a rabbit out the hat on this one to not be disappointed over what we could have had.

Atherton Collieries of the Northern Premier League have Macron and unveiled their kit on Monday.  I note they're not committing to a date other than 'coming soon', but I would presume we're higher in any pecking order they have than Atherton in terms of a) designing a kit and b) getting stock in.  Their new kit is bloody awful btw.

https://twitter.com/ACFC1916/status/1673361058147323904

Not a dig at the club either, it looks to be a wider issue with more than a fair share of clubs in a position of not having unveiled their kit yet.

I did notice on the Macron website we're not listed as one of their teams. Made me think back to when we had Nike and we basically just got the catalogue kits that you could buy as a Sunday League side, wonder if it's that type of set-up with Macron, i.e. we're not remotely important to them.

To be honest I like the St Mirren kit as was, forget the red altogether.....the best looking kit in a "modern" era for me was the pure black and white Lotto shirt we had, clean crisp completely unfussy.
That St Mirren kit has a similar effect.

Quoted Text
BECOME YOUR OWN HERO
Never before has the spirit of the Macron Hero, emblazoned on Grimsby Town FC shirts, conveyed its message like in this beautiful football story. Spirit of sacrifice, passion, commitment, and determination to achieve a goal. No one is born a hero, but they can become one, just as the boys of the English club and their fans did.

Yeah, I'm getting off.

I know we're not the only club not to have released their kit yet, so I'm not overly concerned or worried about it. I do wonder however, whether the longer the wait, the greater the anticipation and - hopefully - the greater the demand is all part of the design in delaying any form of preview or announcement.

I don't for one second think the club would do it from a level of disdain for the fans, but keeping them in suspense in order to create a 'higher than normal' burst of activity on shirt sales wouldn't be a poor marketing strategy from a business perspective. I think they'll want to do everything in their power to maintain the fantastic ST sales of last year (which already looks the case) and also with shirt sales. If last seasons boom was a one-off then it isn't going to help. It needs a sustained change in thought process from fans to become an annual desire/rush to get those STs and shirts as early as possible.

On that similar train of thought, I'm also curious to see whether they order more shirts than last season or again create a supply and demand type scenario that increases that desirability.

Either way and whatever ends up being the case I can't wait for them to be out and try and get my hands on one!

Was only talking about this the other day with a mate. Every year we do the big kit launch and wait for the social media posts and videos. Personally I like all that and think it adds a really positive image to the club and I'm all for it.

However, in terms of the commercial aspect, we're missing a trick. The kit must be designed and agreed between the club and Macron as early as maybe March/April time. Why don't the club release the images of the kit then and open up a pre-order process for fans? Last year we ran out of every shirt on the first day of sales for every kit because the club hadn't anticipated how many fans would be buying one, and the order hadn't been placed for sufficient numbers with Macron in time. If we had the shirts on pre-order/sale as soon as the design is agreed, then the club are better informed as to how many need ordering and in which sizes, ready for kit launch day.

I may be over simplifying this, but it would let us order the correct number of kits to meet demand, whilst also giving us enough surplus stock to have in the club shop for those that wait until closer to the new season or dropping in to buy one.

I know it moves away from the big social media release, but with anything a business does on social media, whilst it's great for our image, exposure and engagement, the end goal is surely to make us money and increase revenue. The fancy shirt launch can still take place and have the official videos come out which we all look forward to, but give us a 3D Mockup/Design (should look ace these days and not some crappy 2D drawing done in paint) that allows fans to see the design early, place an order, secure their shirt, allow the club to place the right sized order with Macron and ultimately don't miss out on sales/revenue.

I reckon the 'new stripes' thing is actually referring to our new away kit, which will be an imitation of our greatest ever away kit the blue striped food town one

Excellent idea makes total sense plus money will already be banked via deposits or full payment

I know it's not arrived yet but what's stopping them showing us a preview image of what it actually looks like?

Totally agree, hopefully it's not as a result of any commercial decision that's led us to make a late change.

The Nike kits had Young's applied as a poor quality vinyl done with a heat press. Unsure whether Nike or the club applied the sponsor but they were definitely "off the shelf" kits. The myenergi logo was in the fabric of last season's shirt which means there is at least some level of customisation offered to us.

Am sat waiting for a train bored so decided to have a look at other macron kits that town could perhaps use. I ‘rearranged’ this one from udinese though possibly too much red!

Personally think that previous "stripes" comment means we will be in for perhaps a new ratio of stripes,  ie broader or uneven width format as opposed to regular width and spacing.

Think Brightons home Nike kit format from last season.

Maybe it’s worth waiting if it means avoiding something like Barnsley’s new home kit monstrosity. I’m not sure what’s worse, the kit or the cringey accompanying “Winning is Being Barnsley” slogan. That’s Barnsley, most recently remembered for losing the League One play-off final.

Whenever we release our new kits, can we please cut the bullshít?

So that Barnsley kit is supposed to be a recreation of their 89-90 kit, with the stars (see here: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Barnsley/Barnsley.htm) but it's clearly just an excuse to appeal to a US market, what with their newish US Mobile sponsor.

It's a bugbear of mine when owners/marketing depts pretend to engage with a club's history when in actual fact they're trying to cash in on that nostalgia.

If they wanted retro they should insist that all players sport a David Currie mullet/porno 'tache combo.

That's just an awful kit.  Looks like something from mid-90's Bulgaria.

The PAOK one would be okay as long as it's the same on the back but the Stoke one in black and white with the red band kept on the sleeve cuff is a super-like from me. The 4th one (NEOS sponsor) would be alright for something a little different. The other 2 are shite

Kind of. It’s literally their home shirt from last season.

Our last three promotions have come in shirts with more white on them than black. This should be taken in to consideration when designing out kits IMO.

That Boston home shirt is one of the best retro efforts I’ve seen in a long time. The away shirt probably pushing things a bit too far, but you can’t fault the effort.

Kit’s finally turned up, it seems. Hard to say from such a small tease, but could be more black than white.

https://twitter.com/officialgtfc/status/1674825122975461377

Has it turned up? Looks like it is weirdly super-imposed on some grey background rather than spread across the clubshop counter. Probably just part of some sample pic emailed across from Macron.

That Boston home shirt is one of the best retro efforts I’ve seen in a long time. The away shirt probably pushing things a bit too far, but you can’t fault the effort.

Home shirts should stay traditional I think but aways are fair game for innovation with the third shirt a more sensible choice for when you’ve really got to get your grown up head on and avoid a clash.

A tease for a new shirt? What is the point of that? Just allows people to have a predjidce before they've seen it, and not in a good way usually.

You certainly aren't going to go wow, I will buy one of those going by that teaser.

As teasers go, that is pretty cr*p.I’m not really in favour of this type of thing….I think it’s a little bit patronising and manipulative of customers that you need money from.  Just show us the f***ing kits and we’ll come and buy them.

Our last three promotions have come in shirts with more white on them than black. This should be taken in to consideration when designing out kits IMO.

I am sure our new stats driven approach will have taken this into account, paired up with Hursty’s luckie undies what could possibly go wrong ?

Is this why the kit is late? Each shirt is individually knitted? I have visions of an army of Italian grannies sat in Italian front rooms furiously knitting Town shirts all summer. Muttering under their breath about deadlines..

Fair one to Heerenveen. Whoever came up with their colours years ago clearly saw the template kit thing coming and decided they’d have no part in it.

After the snippets I’ve seen of the shirt, I’ve a horrible feeling it’s going to be absolutely shite.

With those big quarter size blocks of black and white “stripes” it just won’t look like a Grimsby Town shirt. Why is it somebody at the club doesn’t realise this?
Poojah‘s mock up as we all knew and expected is infinitely better than the one the club will sell!
yet another year of me not buying the shirt.

The white stripe(?) on Town's shirt is much wider than the black one on Levante's shirt.

I'm going to say it's crap now and leave it there. Town shirts should have loads of stripes on, not three/five whatever.  It just screams that we don't get a kit designed for us, we pick one out of a catalogue of pre-designed shirts

Nope…not really
Only whinge about things that I have a strong opinion on. For instance I find the TV show Love island a complete waste of space so I don’t watch it but I don’t whinge about it.
I have strong opinions on the new shirt of my football club and shared them on this platform….thank you, whinge over

The teasers are getting tedious now. I get that they are trying to create a buzz but we have this charade every season, it is nothing new. If there are supply issues like last year then they are going to look a bit silly.

Random/Stupid question but I am getting my 2 year old his first shirt, will they still put letters and a number on a small shirt?

I don't see why not, I'd imagine the limiting factor is the amount of space on a small shirt versus the number of letters in the name.

If they drop the full kit reveal this evening as a combo new signing announcement with Conteh wearing it i'll forgive them for messing everyone around with all the teasers

It’s infuriating, i can’t stand this modern touchy feely gently better together teasing sales approach.

I mean, last season’s third kit and goalkeeper shirt were based on designs submitted by the club’s young supporters, as I believe at least one of our kits this year will be…

And the gold medal for hair-splitting & whataboutery goes to.......

great. third kit. goalkeepers underwear.  nice. admirable.  great work all round.  Now where's me proper black and white stripes that aren't the same as 20 other teams in Europe for the real kit lol

Whataboutery? I simply presented evidence that the club has input into its kit designs and the ability to produce bespoke options, as opposed being limited to preordained templates. This is a well-known benefit of working with “lesser” kit suppliers, versus the likes of Nike in the past who did indeed simply hand us teamwear that any Sunday league side could buy.

Whatever our home kit looks like this season, I am pretty confident that it will be unique to us a club and not available via the Macron website for anyone to buy. The same has been true of our previous two iterations from Macron, as well as all of those provided by Errea

First impression; Fan of the red one. Very simple yet stylish. The home one I don't dislike but I can't seem to bring myself to like it either. I think after a bit of getting used to I'll fall on the side of being a fan but as predicted, Poojahs design set a high bar that the actual design hasn't quite met.

Really like the home kit, it’s hard to do something interesting with black and white stripes.

Away kit seems a bit dull.

It's whataboutery by taking a discussion about black and white striped home shirt (which should have 11+ stripes not 3 or 5) and talking about a third kit instead, as I'm sure you're aware.  But I think you misunderstand what my point was now you're saying 'available via macron website for anyone to buy'.  which is not what I was talking about at all.  I'm saying that the design of our kit will be the exact same - maybe with fish added on - as that of plenty of other pro teams around europe who have a deal with Macron, possibly some of those other clubs play in blue stripes instead of white, but Macron will have a core section of stripe designs that you basically pick from and add a badge.  See the various images on this thread already showing other teams having the pinstripe sleeve banding. A truly unique design would be different to everyone else.

Like, I dunno....this: https://www.macronstorebristol.co.uk/product/skoll-shirt-jnr/  Oh, it turns out you CAN just buy it off the website (near enough)

Where’s the third kit?

Loving the New home shirt and the thicker stripes, red numbers and pinstripe at the bottom of the sleeve.
Red one for me is a bit to simple and basic (like a Sunday league shirt), so for away shirt will wait to see what the 3rd strip brings.

Could just do with announcing our new keeper to show off the new goalies shirt

Pretty sure we launched the third shirt a few days before our first away game last season and wore it for that. The third shirt has to be totally a different colour to our home and away offerings for obvious reasons so can't be white, black or red.

We definitely won't be wearing our home kit against Notts County in our second game so I suspect we will do a similar announcement again and wear the third kit for that.

No, don’t misunderstand me. I know the club are using the phrase ‘pre-order’ like every other marketeer who wants your money up front, I’m just saying there isn’t really a concept of pre order in any real sense. It’s a tautology.
You buy it now - here’s the money, here’s the product, or if if it’s not yet available to collect, you state your intention to buy something, and reserve it - that’s ‘ordering’ it. I’ve never seen where the pre bit comes in.

Nope, can’t get past that either. The club has moved forward in so many ways, yet components of our modus operandi remain woefully shoddy. This is basic.

It’s that time of year again…

The children’s shirt is only 33p less than the adult shirt. This gets pointed out every year and the club (and they’re not the only one) just continues overcharging you children’s size shirts.

Adult shirt…
£38.33 + £7.67 VAT = £46.00

Kids shirt…
£38.00 + £0.00 VAT = £38.00

I don't like the chunky stripes, think they're a bit too thick. Also feel like there always should be some red trim somewhere on the home excrement (i.e. the Macron badge and around the sleeves or collar) - red highlights / trim are what make us look distinct from Notts County / Newcastle's black and white stripes and without any I feel like we just look a bit too generic (although from what I understand we at least still have red socks). Also the collar looks weird and I don't like the little tab in the top middle, looks out of place to me.

The away kit is great, love the subtle fisherman's net style pattern embossed into it, very classy.

Hurst needs a bigger budget, so these tight ar#e little kids who pay about £5 a game for their crazy low Season Tickets should be made to dig deep for once. Bloody scroungers.

I assume that the sponsors, manufacturers and badges are all the same size for every adult shirt?

For the kids shirts, I assume there are some differences, potentially across some of the sizes?

It would be interesting to see the club (or another to be fair) go open book on the gross profit margins for their different shirt sizes.

Happy with that home kit. It's just like the one I painted on my Subbuteo Town team, broad b/w stripes front and back and a red number on the back. And yes I painted a beard on Nigel Batch and Mike Brolly! Happy days.

Far from the worst home shirt we've ever had. Love that it's stripey on the back but as I never pay for name and numbers the shirt wioule be red-less. Needs a red accent for me: the pin stripes on the sleeve or the thing just under the collar. Away shirt is simple and stylish though, will probably get that

If you’re still struggling to get on clear your history and try again. Genuinely think the old website was better than what this one is.

Mate, I clear my history every 15 minutes as a matter of reflex. I’ve tried several times, and the site seems to fail in a new and unique way on each occasion.

I think this home shirt is better than last year, going to order an xxl one and hopefully itll be a normal large, to replace last years skin tight one with its weird collar

Away shirt a bit boring again for me,

Not keen on either this year . Don’t like thick b&w stripes . The away shirt just looks like it was knocked up in 5 mins in a rush  at the end the day in macrons design studio. Hopefully the kids will save the day with the 3rd kit 🤣

I quite liked the red Macron badge last season. It's hard to tell as the camera moves too quickly but the socks looked like they have red in them, although they seemed to have a white top.

I just logged out, emptied my basket (which still had the item in their after logging out), logged back in and went through the process again. The fields to put my card details were on the 'Order & Pay' screen this time and it worked.

They could have timed it better and tied the release in with the signing of a new keeper, seeing him diving and catching and revealing the new shirts.

Mind you, they still have to release the GK shirts so hope they dont miss a trick there.

I think we can safely say football shirt design peaked with the Kappa Man City kit, it’s been downhill ever since.

Both just look like mass produced kits you’d find in a catalogue used by Sunday league teams.

I don’t mind the home kit (would have preferred the  black and white reversed in terms of prominence though) but stuff like this annoys me. Why didn’t Macron tell us Bradford had something so similar/why did we push through with the choice if we did know?

Edit: its a negative image of the Bradford kit. Still though…

I actually prefer the Bradford one (better collar), but why on earth would they choose black and white, even for an away kit?!

You're right about Kappa producing the peak kit but the wrong club!

Love the stripes and red numbers on the back. Shame the front is ghastly though, it looks like a white shirt with a huge 'H' on it. Never been a fan of wide stripes. But if it's a winning shirt and it sells well, who cares?

The red numbering wasn't easy to see on Tuesday night at 'Boro.

I completely get why there's no block on the back for numbering, it looks excrement if you buy a replica top and then don't get a name/number.  But I think there probably needs to be two versions, one with the blocked out back so the name/number is visible (which would be the one the club uses and blokes who want Pete 69 on their shirt) and then the all striped version.

Other thing I noticed is the myenergi logo is on the back, across shoulders.  It's slightly higher than where the names but once the names are on the back of the shirt it's going to look quite cluttered.

I hated the home kit when I first saw it, then I saw some shots of the players in action from the Borough game and I have softened to it, it's actually pretty good. It's not the same old same old, so I suppose you will always lose some people when you do something a bit different. So, bravo, I say.

I think it looks nice "in action", particularly with the red kit numbers, but unfortunately it's not really my cup of tea personally. The black shoulders combined with the thick black stripes make it look a bit like there are shoulder pads!

I really like the red away kit though - clean and simple, with a subtle netting pattern as a nod to the local fishing industry.

It looks alright, but I do prefer it with a hint of red in it. Seeing as 3xl are already sold out, I think I am going to wait and buy the 3rd kit instead.

Wasn't too keen of the home shirt on first impression but it has grown on me, and the neck line looks better than last years so I will probably buy it, as for the away shirt i'm not wearing anything that resembles a liverpool shirt ever.

Ask anyone in the media and they hate numbers not being on a plain background. I know I do because it makes identifying the players even harder, especially if you are covering a team you are less familiar with.

Are we losing out commercially by having myenergi on the front, back and sleeve?

Some will like it. Some won’t. It’s never going to be universally accepted.

I personally, and again it’s down to if you like it or not, like the keepers shirt and would’ve liked that as a third kit. I like the home kit and the away kit is nice too.

I’d wonder what the reception for the ‘pinstripe’ kit from 93 would’ve been like had the fishy been around then.

Home kit loads better in the flesh. The fit is more like Macron’s first effort which was a bit more generous than the skin tight vicar shirt they did us last year.

Yep, bought a home shirt earlier and I love wearing it out and about on release day. I've had 2 shouts of "Up The Mariners" out of passing cars, 1 of "GTFC" and the delivery lady said "love the new Town shirt"
