Great win for us today.

When was the last time we were above Scunthorpe in the league ?

One for the stats.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

About 2004?

Yep, would’ve been the final game of the 2003/4 season, in which we were relegated at Tranmere.

Over the past four or five seasons, Scunny have spent roughly a 3x multiple versus us on player wages (before even factoring in transfer fees) yet find themselves below us. Just let that sink in.

However temporary it may be, I find that quite hilarious and a measure of the calamitous way the club has been managed.

Correct, that was also the last time we were above Hull in the league.

You need to spend a lot in League 1 to be fair. I think they are well managed on the whole, but to panic and sack the current Salford manager was their undoing.

Didn’t Lawsey get sacked not much longer after we beat them in the Cup?
