I've heard this too but I wouldn't take too much notice of this as it came with Slade taking over Hurst when it does happen, we can only wish for that as a Christmas present.

However, I've heard from a more reliable Scunt, Hurst will be given up to Christmas as he is known for slow starts and climbs up the table slowly, remember Hurst is a percentage manager, some results will go his way as they often did with us and they'll sadly slowly climb out of the drop zone. I hope they drop into the abyss never to reappear, the most sour faced and bitterest fans ever to mouth breath on the football league, fcuk them.

I'm sure Doig flew past me on the M180 Westbound Sunday morning at about 10:00.

Wonder if he knows Hurst is under pressure?

I doubt it will have been him, He’s probably still at the Ipswich training ground wondering if hurst is coming back

I’m honestly ambivalent towards Hurst nowadays, but part of me hopes that he makes it until Christmas (or 21st December to be precise). That game has the potential for one of the spiciest atmospheres we’ve seen at Blundell Park in many a year.

You have to admit though that it’s not looking good for him right now. Four defeats and one draw from his first five competitive games, bottom of the league, a chairman who is on his sixth manager in three years and presumably a top 3-5 budget doesn’t look like a recipe for long-term employment.

After the way things went at Ipswich and now the start he’s had at Scunny, even a man famed for his unwillingness to admit error must be feeling just a touch of self-doubt, surely?
