I have a name and an e-mail address that's all no phone number for Pete. I have not read all this thread but the IP address it was posted from was in Henley, south of Guildford.

I'm not convinced these ip locators are accurate at all, I've just used one and it showed up as being in Bristol....

Rob, would you try the other police number (guess it's Suffolk Police) and give them the info you've got please. That way, they cannot say they've not had all the possible info.

Done, it's a BT address so I told the police they should be able to ask BT and they will know exactly who had that address at the time of the post. They said they had tried loads of different addresses for him already, so I presume they are still looking for him.

True, but the ISP will be able to connect the address with the customer if they know the time.

Given the way Pete's posts went last night, he was on for quite some time, replied to what I wrote concerning free tickets and said at that stage he wouldn't ever be coming to Grimsby again etc,I feel sure he was at home. Home for Pete was his Suffolk village and Thurston fits the bill(I've been there,I had a friend who lived in a new housing estate on the outskirts of the village).

if hes had enough hes had enough . my family has a suicidal streak in its genes and its a personal thing . why should people who dont even know him , even though all your intentions are honourable try and stop him / get involved ?

i fully understand this is a very imotive subject and ill get hung for posting this ..... i hope this is some mistake for grimsby pete and his family but if not hats off to you pete . See u for a beer sometime.....

My mum suffers with depression and I would hope to God if she ever left a cry for help similar to Pete's that people would react exactly as they have on here and try and help rather than just say oh well she's had enough.

The reaction to this thread is incredible and makes me proud to be from Grimsby - something that doesn't happen often! I really hope Pete is OK, please post any news guys.

That concurs with the IP evidence. All his recent posts have come from the same IP adress - 81.156.170.251. BT should be able to tell the police in minutes where that is!

His computer is probably turned off as tracert cannot reach it, but it clearly goes through bt to get there.

I'm sat at home praying that this situation is resolved shortly and the outcome is favourable for Pete and his family! However if the worst case scenario happens, every poster on the fishy has done their level best to help the fella in his darkest hour of need. Your reaction to this situation has been overwhelming and shows a great depth of positive humanity.
