We are in the brown and smelly stuff. No doubt about that.
But a half decent run in the next half of the season should get us clear.
I would rather wait a couple of weeks and get the right players in, than panic buy now.
If we still haven’t improved the squad by quite a margin by the end of the transfer window I will be sorely disappointed. I’m still worried, of course I am. But to wait slightly we’d still have a fair few games to sort it.

Thats probably right but we don't necessarily have that much time - who knows when the season might be curtailed...

It would really help Hurst with recruitment if we could get the takeover completed as soon as possible, especially if a vision for the future of the club is presented at the same time..

not going to happen realistically bigdog. It's only 3 weeks since the announcement, and these things generally take 4 weeks/1 month and that's without the Xmas/New Year break and the latest lockdown. I suspect it will be early February.

IMO in our current league position I think we will struggle to get any decent signings. No footballer wants a relegation season, especially out of the League, on their CV. I'm not saying that I think we will be relegated but prospective signings might have a different view of our position and future.

That's another reason I think this next match against Southend could be so big, could just put us outside the relegation zone for a week, make things look a bit less dire even though really in the grand scheme of things it's just 3 points, but could make a bit of difference for signings
