Spread-eagled on a pillow, indulging yourself in the pleasures of the palm, does not constitute a night shift

The one thing I do enjoy on this web site, apart from the serious side of Towns position in the league, is the humour. It is the best free entertainment you can get, banter at it's best.

tuesday 4.30pm and still no sign of any player coming in, this is gonna be a crucial 72 hours to get a couple of players in for the game this weekend. I can only feel sorry for Hursty, as our position and area doesnt bode well for any incomings, along with the Ollievirus. If we dont get anyone in, im hoping Hanson and Scannel would be vying for fitness to help us out. It aint looking good.

Why would any decent player want to come?

We can’t control COVID
We have crap facilities
We won’t pay decent wages
We can’t win
We have so many unfit players we can’t play the same team twice.

And if we lose Saturday we are bottom of the slagheap

Hurst said that it would likely be after tonight's round of games when clubs would let players go out. There are games in our league, the National League and the EFL trophy, which is where a lot of fringe players will be involved. Have a little patience.

Besides, we may have players in training with us now like Habergham did. We may already have players agreed terms but just waiting for contracts. We may even have signed someone but not released the news yet.

I agree with you as info out of BP is non-existent. With regard to tonight's games I hope for a Carlisle and Salford victories, any less will only keep us in the quagmire created by JF and IH

I feel slightly different I guess.
We are in the brown and smelly stuff. No doubt about that.
But a half decent run in the next half of the season should get us clear.
I would rather wait a couple of weeks and get the right players in, than panic buy now.
If we still haven’t improved the squad by quite a margin by the end of the transfer window I will be sorely disappointed. I’m still worried, of course I am. But to wait slightly we’d still have a fair few games to sort it.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Totally agree with this Civy, a decent sequence of results at any point of the season will do, so let's not desperately rush and get the wrong people in. If Hurst can sign a decent cohort of players then we've got every chance of stringing a winning sequence together that will pull us clear, most of the teams at this level are much of a muchness.
