Allardyce would not have had the advantages of Southgate would he? He had not been the youth manager so had no first hand knowledge of the young players or any relationship with them as a manager. Therefore he would have had to keep at least some of the old guard and he would not have had the same public support. As Grim Rob says, Southgate had it handed on a plate. Win/win situation.

“If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.”

I can see another world cup win to go with the one I saw in 1966 in the years to come.

I have got 2 things on my bucket list Swin,

Seeing England winning the world cup again and sitting in our new stadium watching our 1st game.

If I live as long as my dad that gives me 15 years .
