Gotta say I'll miss some of his sliding challenges...always made me watch with one eye shut and waiting for the crunch!!..
Good luck to him in whatever the future holds, would've been nice to have him a few years ago but looked past his sell by date every time he played..

I was more surprised we didn't release him in January to be honest with him hardly playing. It was worth a punt to take him on because if it worked out it seemed like he would of been a star at this level, but like others have said his legs had gone and was always on Dave Moores physio table so it was coming.


I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

Thats all he had IMO.
On paper not a bad signing ...in reality ...a bad signing.

Wasn't impressed from my first glimpse and never showed me anything to persuade me otherwise. Good decision to call it quits now.

I disagree. I think the improvement Harry Clifton has made coupled with the consistency of Hess's performances has given Welsh limited opportunities. IMO these two players performances have taken MJ a bit by surprise and given him a few selection headaches. We still have Whitehouse to get fit and back into action. I don't think Shaw will be missed and possibly not even replaced.
