Parachuted in as club skipper over Collins and looked to be playing in flip flops in the Cleethorpes heatwave friendly. Collins, in contrast, was in great condition and looked like a senior pro.
If Welsh really was on a top wage, then due diligence was not done. Hopefully, the club and MJ can learn from this. Doubly ironic as MJ will be well connected with the Lancashire coaching network and usually makes a point of 'good character' in his signings.
