Nathan will always be fondly remembered, when he was on fire in the national league he was unplayable. But occasions like that were few and far between. It's easy to reminisce with rose tinted glasses but he was inconsistent in the league below. He's had at least three chances at league 2 level and hasn't lasted long. Now the wrong side of 30, I'd leave him as a hero of the past. Wish him all the best.

Think he'd be a good signing for Allen at Chesterfield. Doesn't live too far away and vast experience of getting promoted out of that league.

Let's hope it keeps growing then

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Apart from THAT goal, he scored much better ones (if less important). The two at Eastleigh the year before for example. Not sure he ever got that much of a run out in the League so hard to judge.

Came across as a really decent bloke who 'got it'. The 4th Musketeer to James, Shaun and Craig.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

We had Nathan in at the college a couple of weeks back giving a talk to our students about mental health issues and I have to say he was brilliant. A bit more... Erm... Spiritual than I expected but great all the same.

I managed to speak to his girlfriend after and it turns out he's been treated horribly by Lincoln. He agreed to go on loan to Salford after a conversation with Gary Neville, despite his gut telling him it wasn't right and it was a total farce when he got there. Said he only saw the managers 3 times in the 4 weeks he was there and they did absolutely zero coaching at all, complete jokers the pair of them.

He phoned the Cowleys and told them what a joke it was there and asked them to recall him within the 28 days which they agreed to do... Subsequently they left him their meaning he would have to see out the 4 months at Salford. He spoke to them again and said he was going to leave and they threatened him with breach of contract should he walk but told them he'd rather go unpaid than stay there. They took him to an FA tribunal for breach of contract and the hearing was last Friday. His girlfriend said no club could officially talk to him while the investigation was ongoing but he had had unofficially chats with Macca and MJ and some possibilities.

I for one would take him back without a doubt... Great option to have even if just from the bench.

At the end of the day there is no loyalty to clubs by footballers today ( agents) so I have no sympathy to Nathan Arnold at all.
