I note Damien Reeves of Altringham has already bagged five since their promotion to the Conference. He bagged 44 last season in the Conference North, our strikers are already conspicuous by their absence on the top goalscorers list. The article below shows he would consider a move to a league club, not sure if we would tempt him with fulltime football. There is a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for a league club on a free, perhaps this clause would keep his transfer fee to us down?

Do we need a new striker? Could Reeves be the answer? Is the budget still there to bring one in and would the hairs stand up on the back of your neck?

Bogle has scored a few too, including 2 at North Ferriby on Sat where apparently he caught the eye.

Let's hope the Bogester is still on the radar then! I believe we have the best chance of promotion since we were relegated to this cesspit, the only doubt I have are will the forwards bag enough goals against the decent sides. If you sign Reeves, you sign goals. I don't know about his overall play, but he is a machine in front of goal. I also worry how long Pittman will stay fit for given his record over the last few years.

Would be good although the question needs to be asked what are his negatives (if any) why has no one moved for him? I would prefer Bogle myself for his shop like presence

I know you say our strikers are absent from the charts but we 7 games in we have 3 players with three and all of our strikers have scored despite not playing every game, I agree that it is key that Pittman stays fit, but if he does he will get 20+ and on current form Neilson and the shop will be hitting double figures, at the minute with all players fit I think Reeves would struggle to get in our side.

We're the 2nd highest goalscorers in the league so I don't think we need to worry about having a top scoring striker.  In this league we had Alan Connell and Liam Hearn finishing at the top end of the goalscorers charts but that didn't get us promoted.  The last time we were promoted our top scorer was a midfielder.  Therefore I don't think it's an issue, our squad looks pretty good as it is.

Serial thread killer.

SO WE WOULD BE ABLE TO SIGN HIM NEXT YEAR ON THAT CLAUSE, IF PROMOTED - ..... LEAGUE CLUB, NOT CONFERENCE !!

I think we need another striker on the books though, with the partnerships which have been formed this season, any new arrivals might play mostly as a backup to our current players.

Specifically, we could do with another 'big' striker to give us options up front when LJL is injured/suspended/out of form. Pittman did OK on his own at the weekend but some of the massive defenders in this division would wipe him out so another targetman type in the squad would be useful.

I suppose the alternative is another quick striker.

Regardless of the type of player, I certainly think we need somebody else in as just 3 specialist strikers in a squad just isn't enough.

I heard you.

What I'm saying is because he can be taken on a free by 92 clubs, his transfer fee to a club outside of that 92 could well be reduced.

Whilst we are someways on the up so to speak it would be wise to get a player in the same style as John Lewis to cover him for loss of form injuries suspensions etc, we can`t win this league with only three strikers IMO even accounting for the fact that goals can and will come from midfield
