Right let's not fanny about here.
Presuming we can afford it, do we need another striker to be brought in to partner Hannah ? Possibly a target man ? Or is it too soon and do we have enough options to look at first before we make any decision ?
Personally don't think it's the only issue that needs sorting but obviously it's still a talking point.
Won't run a poll, think I know what the answer would be...

Well for me and I'm all for giving the players plenty of chances I think it's fair that they've had plenty.
Southwell is still learning and can't at present be first choice more a backup striker
Elding puts plenty of effort but is struggling to score goals and has been wasteful
Cook has struggled and as we have often seen either the step up to full time or moving to a new area is having an effect to his game
Hannah seems to have hit form
Pearson seemed to come into some for then got injured made a cameo appearance before getting injured again
I definately think if we really want to get out this league our lack of goals must be addressed but what does that say if we had 2 loanees up front, however come Saturday I think it will be Pearson and Hannah and I can see Elding being moved on come Jan.

Know what you mean ! Could depend which way you look at it. Either we're getting deserate or we're deadly serious maybe ?

Elding.... Funny how he wasn't on the bench. After Cook was taken "out the firing line" maybe it's the same type of thing. Could he be back ? Wouldn't be TOO suprised and maybe he deserves to be. (not his biggest fan by any means but said I wouldn't have dropped him).

Yeah it was strange, I felt more sorry for miller 80's I know Pearson and pond have been excellent, you have to wonder what the players are thinking seeing miller dropped (as players do talk to each other or female dog). I'm one for being a fair type of manager so if you've played badly or struggling you change it and they keep there place if they've played well etc, but I guess times have changed. Years ago players out of form would be used in reserve games in the hope of them gaining form or their scoring touch but these days players feel there better than to play in the reserves why can't they see the bigger picture rather than moan or sulk about playing reserves football for me it would be another chance to impress.

Well I've mixed feeling Meza. Like I said in the match thread Pearson did nothing wrong to lose the shirt but Pete also pointed out Miller did nothing wrong until his wife had a baby. I'm not really one for "rules" tbh, though yes, guess it can have an effect. One thing I've only just noticed (not sure if you have?) was Hurst said Miller was diappointed to be left out the Kidderminster game. See it here on 3 mins http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20194756#assetBut tbh fair or not fair understand players are gonna be disappointed but don't think any players should "sulk" like you say. Think they need to learn the manager can't pick everyone (and sure they do) Then again it's all very easy for me to say, I'm not the one playing well and then not playing.

Perhaps Marshall is the new striker, sort of. Marshall and Colbeck out wide means Neilson could play further up?
S&H could go with last night's squad, plus Neilson to return. I guess Southwell could be the one to step down from the bench. And hopefully G Pearson gets fitter and sharper too....

We might need another striker, we might not. Pearson and Southwell deserve more opportunities, but if they are presented, they need to be taken. No excuses. Personally I'm pretty sick of Elding and Cook wasting chances or failing to impose themselves on games - there are dozens of strikers in the BSP, playing for average or poor teams with better goal returns than them. If we hadn't borrowed Hannah, we'd be firmly mid-table.

Cook was full time at Barrow and is now living closer to home than when he was at Barrow,

Bishop Auckland to Barrow = 96 miles Bishop Auckland to Grimsby = 130+miles
