Some people have got short memories. Brad is decent but tends to be overassessed because he's local and likes a crunching tackle. However, what is then overlooked are his shortcomings - not overly skilful, not especially quick (his best tactic against good wide players is to kick them and get himself booked or sent off), not special going forward, crossing, shooting, taking set pieces. Hatton on the other hand, is good at all of these things and is a better athlete all round. He'll probably also score 4 or 5 goals next season. Proven at a higher level, he's simply a better player. Wood will do a job covering or replacing players with dips in form, but both Hatton and Thomas are better than Wood in every aspect (except fouling).

He's never been sent off.

I think he's the type of player who will rise to the challenge and be a better player with competition for places.

Bradley's an old fashioned full back who likes to get stuck in, his energy levels are fantastic and his a very determined player, I'm sure brads knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in from his own personal point of view.  Not all full backs are Ashley Coles or Glen Johnsons lol but we know what brads offers not to mention versatility.

thing is I hope Bradley has a decent season as Ive spoken to a few mariners fans and most seem to think he may not be here next season(contract  up at the end of the season).I hope he can prove them wrong and have a storming season this year and next  as I would be sad to see him to go

Hattons biggest fault is that he wants to get forward far too early instead of holding his line.By doing this he leaves the left back position exposed to an opposition player who can out run him (not a too difficult task I think). He needs to be far more aware of his other back line collegues.Given his age it is hard to correct bad habits were as Wood could still respond to coaching.

Brads will get a new contract if he doesn't there is something wrong, but I have no doubt he will easily find a new club if they don't.

Brad is and will be our first choice right back, you can say what you want about hatton, he's just came in so needs to prove something and let's be honest here brad has been the best right back this pre season, hatton has been poor and hasn't really get off the mark yet!

I can see hatts playing in centre mid regularly to step in for the injured niven.

I've said this many times Bradley is a crowd fav as he is 100% and i think he will be up for the challenge at full back and hopefully the best man will get the nod....... I do wish he would try play more football rather than just hit the line long as you can tend to read it after a while but you don't know weather he is just doing it as that is what he is being told to do.

Also may mate played against town at ferriby and he said Brad let himself down as he was leaving his feet in and being dis respectable to his opponents although he said he was a good player

I would start with Brad at right back at Southport

if thats the case I hope Bradley stamps this out in the  future.Love commitment from a player and as long as there honest I don't mind if they go strong in the tackle but I dont like dirtiness in a player.I doubt Bradley is a dirty player and maybe this was a one of in which I hope is a experience  he can learn from
