Sooner have Germaine Greer- at least she could go into an in depth interview why a sitter was missed from 2 yards

Well the eaaaaasy bladdy thing to do would have been to put the bawwwwl in the net. But putting the metaphorical spermatozoa into the oriface would just be typical of patriarchal structures. It's much better to pace the ball around when clean through and start fannying around the airrrrea.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Yep , just the amount of trialists we have had and the fact that we are now going into our first game with scott Vernon as our main striker sums it up.

That fenty statement of "we will show our intent in the transfer market" and "we felt our recruitment needs taking to the next level" seems silly now.

I honestly feel we were stronger this time last season under Paul Hurst and i don't say that easily.

That works both ways.

Yeah, but with all due respect, when have you EVER been happy? All through the promotion season you were an absolute doom merchant.

There's no way we were stronger on paper under Hurst last season (and I was a Hurst supporter). Apart from one Omar Bogle.

To be fair sam there's a few doom merchants on here.  Just like those in the upper.  Sometimes they are moaning and thats just the practice bit before the match.  Its like a cancer.

I can't remember the poster who suggested that maybe slade is aware that bogle might move on and there'd be some more money in the pot which bring a whole load of better quality players into the frame. Also if he is after revel for example, he may know that he wouldn't get him early, but that as Northampton were after a striker he might become more amenable as the clock ticked and revel found himself down the pecking order. It's a game of poker. Far better for us to wait and get one of his top targets late on, rather than just grabbing the first man available

Radio Humberside reporting that JJ Hooper is on trial with Town ( ex Northampton and Port Vale). Striker who can also play wide

Northampton signed a striker the other day, so maybe that pushes Revell further down the pecking order. Personally I'd love him here, a proper old school number 9 who knows where the back of the net is.

He's 34. Do you not think we have become a retirement home already?
