EU bullies!  they are taking the p1ss, anything we propose now will never be good enough, I say we stand up to these facist undemoctatic dictators and tell them if we haven't got a deal by January we are just leaving anyway goodbye👋🏻

At which point, our economy tanks. Hard brexit = the worst option of all.

You can't expect the EU to offer us any gifts, not least when we've been doing some preposterous sabre-rattling in the lead up to negotiations (though the scabbard is empty because they hold all the cards). Ultimately, they've got to look after their own interests and that means keeping the EU together even if it hurts us more than it needs to.

One interesting point is that there seems to be a bit of a banking crisis developing in parts of the EU. A Spanish bank collapsed last week and a couple of smaller Italian banks have just gone as well. If there is any contagion, then that could lead to severe problems in the Eurozone. Whether that will help or hinder the negotiations, I have no idea.

Might make them play hardball even more, might make them take a more conciliatory tone.

Might mean that banks that threaten to leave London might think again.

Exactly they only want us for our money. Look these bullies are not going to agree on any deal and any serious business man/woman will tell you that with any negotiations you have to be prepared to walk away.
WTO here we come many countries are fine with these arrangements and the EU would absolutely excrement themselves at the mere thought of the other EU countries seeing us doing ok out of it and thinking we want some of that, time to stop pussyfooting around and stand up to them.

People who think negotiating our way out of the EU with a favourable deal will be easy.
