Congratulations on your move Omar, well done to the board and MB on what looks like a productive window.

I cannot agree with those who said we should have held firm and hung on for over £2m

What about Omar's view? He may well have wanted to go?

When he was at Solihull what would he have been on £300/400pw? He moved to Town on a 3 year deal and signed for ( guess) £700/800pw.

Wigan come up and offer say £5/6k per week, a seven or eight fold increase. Who on here wouldn't have taken that?
Even at my time of life nearly £500k pa would make me jump ship!

Just heard that we are holding out for 1+ million for Bogle.

Wigan didn't look as if they were too interested, however, that has now changed.

Currently, they are favs and will put a 1+ million bid in + addons.

1,2 million Forrest bid rejected a few weeks ago.

I see the OP has edited his post from Reading to Wigan. Clever aren't you mate? Sooo in the know

This is my reading of it too. If he'd already had his head turned and "mentally checked-out" then we wouldn't have been hanging on to the same player anyway.

From Non League to Wembley to Football League to Championship Football all in the space of a couple of years. Superb achievement Mr Bogle. Good luck and Thank You.

While Omar was always going to leave us for a higher division, either in this window or the next, I can't help feeling this isn't a good career move for him. He's joined a struggling outfit, involved in a relegation dogfight, with a new(ish) who have just signed eight new players. Chances are they'll be relegated and, who knows, we could be playing against him next year.

And not a club known for their fervent fans!

Nevertheless, I wish him well.

Does this all sound begrudging!!

why isn't a good move? from a personal point of view he's probably quadrupled his wages and if they somehow manage to survive and he's banged a few in he'll be on more teams radars... If they don't survive then he's still a division higher than he was playing at the beginning of this season.

Those with SkySports may have a quick opportunity to see him in action for his new club.

Wigan vs Sheffield Wednesday is the Friday night game on SkySports1.

Think we should go and watch him live. Give him a proper good send off 😊

Maybe, like Tees, Oster,  Groves and Croft, he will return some day?

Good luck to him. He's been as good for us as he needed to be and this move ought to set him up for life financially as well as helping us out.

Whether Wigan are able to unlock his additional potential or not remains to be seen, but he's shown enough in fits and starts to indicate he could do decently at that level if he can settle in well. I do wonder if he'll perhaps do better when playing alongside better players?

Now for Asante to take over where he left off!
