1.5 million 1997 John oster is the record, but this is highest for a long time

Cheers! So depending on what Wigan ended up paying it could even match that deal. Pretty crazy.

If we've sold him for "£1m to £1.5m" someone at the club needs shooting. Highly rated 23 year old striker, top scorer in League Two, bags of potential, responsible for 54% of our goals so far this season - that's nowhere near enough money in the current market for a player with 18 months remaining on their contract. The buying club have just sold a winger their fans all hate for £7 million ffs, we should have made them bite our bloody arms off to get him.

Good luck to Omar. Got to remember he was part-time until signing for us last season so this is an amazing opportunity for him financially, life-changing. If its £1million + then that is a fantastic amount for Town. Well done Hursty and Fenty for signing him on a 3 yr contract, how good a deal does that seem now!
Thanks for all the goals, esp as someone said the epic one at Braintree, god that was amazing when that went in, and of course the wembley goals.
Good luck to him in his future career - could still earn the club more big money yet!!

I know Johnnie Oster went up to the Prem from a 'Championship' club, but it was nearly 20 years ago.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Good luck to the lad, pleased for him. Did a good job for us when it mattered. Warren Joyce seems a decent manager so despite the relegation fears he's probably gone somewhere solid.

And he never went to "Yarkshar" which makes it even better........!

He has done more for the Club than the vast majority of players - even in a short time.  And made us a lot of money.  (Not to mention scoring the goals that got us back into the League).
