That's the problem though isn't it? We have chased them for so long that if they don't look like world beaters from day one, there will be more grumblings and posts saying we should have kept Clay and Podge.

After all this speculation i will believe it when its announced. It will take them time to get fully fit for this level but we sure need a good creative midfielder. Yes similar to anyone taking a step up if they are recruited you would imagine they will need time to adjust. If and I say "IF" they sign tomorrow I would like to see them get game time soon though.

Like Bogle playing in the Premier and for England you mean?

And why are we signing non-league players when we have released others (with league experience) on the basis that they wouldn't be good enough for Div 2

That's a stupid argument i must say. The level someone is playing at now doesn't equate to the level they may be capable of playing at. Should we not have signed Cockerill from Stafford Rangers going by that logic?
